I've decided to spend some money on what my research has told me is a reasonably good amp for the price. My question: would the Sundown SIA-1250D be too much for my stock electrical system? It will be going into a 2007 Cadillac STS 3.6l V6. I believe the stock alternator is 150a.

I recently purchased a used Sundown SFB-1000D from a member here that I was going to use in my truck UNLESS it will draw less amperage than the SIA, then I will use it in the STS and figure out an upgrade for my truck amplifier.

Trying to find my best to search online but its fruitless. I have an email in to the Sundown tech team too. I appreciate ya'lls help.

PS. It will be powering a single SI SQL-12 d2 (thinking ported).

1000 watts vs 1250 watts, doubt you'll see much of difference unless one of the amps is garbage.

any quality amp will have a similar efficiency which means for a the same power output you'll have a similar amount of power draw. If you're competing than maybe you would care about this **** but for a daily system you wont hear a difference.

Run the appropriate gauge wire, do your big 3 upgrade, and ground correctly. Lots of guys run this much power on stock electrical.
