I bought this for no reason other than it was cool..it was a prototype that never made it into production. uses the Tri-path chip...I will post some pics tommorrow..right now dont have time...need to get to bed...

anyhow...only a few were built...so this is perfect for a collector...I know not many here but I figured I would try before posting on ebay with it..

$150 shipped for a rare piece....

what's the deal with the "tri-path" chip, Jax... ?

Looks like the output IC in a home stereo reciever... lol...

Ooooh, Tripath. :D It made it into a few car amps, not that many though. Some collector will definitely love this.

P.S. What are all those gizmos in the PG fuse holder? Why does a fused powerblock need circuits?

Phoenix gold made a big tripath. So did clarion and arc. Us amps made some. I had 2 I wish I kept. Avionics had one and blaupunkt. Maybe a few others. Crunch never mass produced these I am told by an employee of maxsonics. The fuse hold has lights on it that serve a purpose but I never used it like that. It also has a on/off switch. The amp is just an oddity that I don't need. Going to get more pics tonight

I think Avionixx was the front runner for Tri-Path amps, or Class T. From what I remember it was supposedly a full range amp with Class D efficiency. Pretty much what ICE is now, just not as compact.

Neat little bugger, though.

That's a cool lookin thang. I don't need it at all but it is tempting to start a little collection of Tri-Paths and add this too the 2 700T's I have.

Gotta say those 700T's put out some really nice clean power without flinching. IMHO they are probably ideally employed as dedicated midbass amps, or even midrange, but I probably wouldn't use them for the tweets.....But that is an issue of debate and only MO.

Anyway, Bumb for a really cool amp. someone pic this up at a rock bottom price. I bet this will be, if not already, a real collectors item.

If I had a job I would definitely take it off your hands in a second. If for some reason I'm able to come up with the funds, I'll shoot you a PM.

Peace
