So here I go again. To recap here is what we are working with:
-Alpine 9883
-Alpine MRP-F250, driving eD 6000s v.2 comps
-Alpine MRP-M500, driving a JL 10W0v2 (single 4 Ohm) (specs here: JL Audio: W0v2 Subwoofers)
-Box is sealed at .65
-Rockford amp install kit for 1000w amp. Monster RCA's, monster speaker cable, good ground, etc.
The M500 and JL are new, they replaced a JBL 150.1 and a eD SQ10 sub.
I totally expected quite a change in bass output, but I get VERY little. When I turn up the Subwoofer at the head unit to 10 or so, I get plenty. The gain is currently set just past Nom.
My concern is, should raising the sub output at the HU be necessary? My first thought is that I should get fair bass from the HU sub set to factory default and the gain set to Nom.
This is bumming me out. I may be missing needed info for a diagnosis, but being the green horn I am I don't know what to ask.
Thanks in advance.
