The headunit also has 24 db per octave settings. Thanks for all your help.
Start with 24dB then (keeps things in phase) and experiment with overlap vs underlap to get the best response.
Keep the midrange and tweeter physically as close together as possible and preferably on the same plane/axis (all 3 if possible).
Take the time to listen to each driver individually to make sure you know what's coming from where and use the xover settings and time alignment to get the best (smoothest) response possible before doing any EQ work.
