Which would be better two 8's or one 10? Speakers will be Sundown SD 2 and in a ported box powered by a Precision Power p1000.1 amp.

Ive not heard the sundown ten, but have some time with two 8 sd2's in a sealed box with 600 watts. VERY nice. can imagine porting would be that much better

I've done the 2 tens ported off of 400 watts, and I too would go with the two 8's ported.

Assuming the 8's have the same excursion as the 10 I would go 2 x 8's. You will get more cone area and more displacement with 2 x 8's.
