Dayton reference 12" high fidelity sub
Seas w18nx-001
Aurum Cantus AC165
Peerless 830845 XXLS 12"
Audio technology 8"
Seas Lotus reference 7"
Seas Lotus performance 7"
Seas W18EX-001
IDmax v3 12"

So many drivers... so little time. I'd really like to add some high end car stuff if anyone wants to donate to the cause. Stuff like Brax, Focal Utopia Be, RS Audio, Alpine F#1, etc. Woofers are good too... w7, adire, jbl dual gap, etc. Imho these are really the ones that are missing any kind of objective data.

there are a ton of alpine type x reviews over on ECA , npdang (cheapboy) included

the other buwaldshybrids has a review on the ur6, if I remember correctly

for the cost though, youd easily match or best any of those with the ca18/lpg 25nfa ran active off a 4 ch amp

Tangband W3-1231SH is also on the way to Dang from Taiwan as we speak, hopefully we'll have another killer 3 inch mid to add to the ranks of the trius :D

P.S I would also like to see some commercial car audio speaker be put to the test. I'm not a betting man, but i'm willing to bet my arse that speaker like dynaudios and DLS Iridiums easily get trounced by DIY drivers costing less than half their shelf prices

x2...

I managed to match a full blown DLS (Dealer owner\install) earlier this year with LPG25NFA's, OZ CS130 (bought used) & OZ200L (Bought used)... I feel my system is much better now with LPG25nfa's (soon to be replaced by RS28's), Dayton RS150's & Peerless XLS8's.

A little math to give everyone a good performance to value visual...

LPG25nfa x4 ($150)
Dayton RS150 ($65)
Peerless XLS8 ($150)
Alpine F345 x2 ($500)

That's $865 est for the entire front stage and it includes amps...
A comparable 3-way component set with 8" mid bass like the DLS Iridiums go for roughly $800 & you still need an amp ;)

Just to give everyone & idea of what you are saving by going DIY...
