Hello everyone. :)

I've been looking through various threads for information on how to achieve acoustically correct speaker phase. A commonly suggested action is to listen to a test track which showcases in- and out-of-phase voices. Being the resourceful person that I am, I typed "phase" into Spotify and found a very useful album, full of explanations and test tracks relating to phase, stereo setup, subwoofer level matching, and imaging. The album's name is "Stereo Review: Gold Stereo & Surround Set Up".

And no, this isn't a plug for Spotify, as Spotify is free. I just thought that this information might be helpful to a few of you fine folks.

I'm going to make myself look like a noob and ask how to find that album on Spotify. I've never used it before and a Google search isn't working for me. I'd like to listen to it and see if it's worth (in my opinion) purchasing since I have no way to listen to spotify in my car.

Thanks for the welcome. This is how Spotify works:

Free version - listen on computer only, with ads
$4.99/month - listen on computer only, no ads
$9.99/month - listen on computer and phone, no ads

I have the $9.99/month version, also known as Spotify premium. It's pretty bad ass. With my 4G Android phone, I can listen to any song, anywhere, at near CD quality. Their highest setting for quality, "extreme", will give you songs at a whopping 320 kbps bitrate. Anyone knowledgeable with MP3s knows that this bitrate will rock your socks off.

In regards to the album search, simply type "stereo review" into Spotify's search bar, and its autocomplete feature will suggest the correct album. See my attached screenshot for reference.

I look forward to learning a lot from you fellas. :D

Thanks. I don't have a smart phone which is what I was alluding to when I said I didn't have a way to listen in my car. I'll test it on my computer, but it's likely from the way it's being talked about that I'll be purchasing it.

Good to see another Apple fan. Were they not so expensive I'd still own one, i moved onto Linux and have been happy. Does Amazon do music download purchases similar to the iTunes store, or is my only option to wait for the disc to be shipped?

What a piece of **** site. I can't sign up because I keep getting username is taken no matter how random or rediculous of a username I use.

I guess I'll try again in the morning. I don't mind buying them on a cd on amazon but I wanted them now for download so I could try them out tonight.

Just find a JL dealer and buy the Cleansweep set-up disc. It's $9.99 and not only has in/out of phase tracks but in different freq ranges. Best $10 you'll ever spend on tuning. Has uncorrelated pink noise and test tones if you set gain with a DMM.

This thing is so ****ed up. I tried again this morning and it said my e-mail is already in use. I clicked on forgot your password and a link popped up in my e-mail. Following the link shows "seems this took a while" and that I was logged out for security reasons and to follow the reset link in my email, the link I followed to get there in the first place. I only have a few passwords that I use for everything and none of them work. It never let me create a profile yet it tells me what my username is in the e-mail. What ****ed up site.

Also, if I click on forgot password/username it says that username is not associated with an account. Yet it has that username in the email link they sent me. Is this run by the US government? I've never seen such incompetence.

Ok, now my username and e-mail don't exist even though a few minutes ago they did. I setup an account using my old e-mail address and it's blocked due to a trojan virus. Is this **** for real?

I tried to set it up without Facebook. I guess I can try it that way, I just have to remember my Facebook password now lol.

Tried it with facebook and it's successful but it's blocked due to a trojan. Should I bypass Kaspersky this time? I have 4 hours free today to tune the car, it would be nice to get this in time.

Downloading from Amazon..... They're in mp3 form, my car doesn't play mp3. Will they automatically be converted if I use iTunes?

So yeah, after starting over fresh, from the polarity part I ended up with the entire left side reverse polarity and very little time alignment needed. Also found the reason the stage would get fuzzy as the volume went up is the 9s were lighting the door panels up badly. I ended up with an 80hz/48db and still cutting 80-160hz. Kind of defeats the purpose of the larger midbasses but in the end it definitely sounds better with these tracks. Thanks to the OP.

It's expensive living in Europe! $30 shipped for this disc! :O

Anyway - just ordered it. Excited to see if I can fix some issues easily with this disc.

I searched for "audiophile" and found four very cool albums titled "Audiophile Reference" volumes II, III and IV, as well as "The Nordic Sound - 2L". On the Audiophile reference Vol III album there is a track called "I'm a fool to want you" which gave me back to back audiogasms :). Listen to the whole track, and never mind the noise floor, the dynamics make up for it!
