Has anyone looked into the new DD shallow sub (SL712). It looks the Illusion Audio sub but I think that the SL712 can handle more power and has a lower price tag.
SL712 | DD Audio
SL712 Woofer 12"
Nominal Impedance Dual 2 ohm
Fs 40 Hz
Qts 0.756
Qes 0.849
Qms 6.954
Vas 1.148
2-Way Suspension Travel 50mm
Cutout Diameter 11.38"
Mounting Depth 4.125"
Shipping Weight 19lbs
Power Handling 400-800 RMS
Peak Power 1600 Watts
Rec Enclosure 0.5 - 0.8 ft3 sealed
Just going off the specs, the SL712 doesn't seem to be too bad of a shallow sub considering DD is known for their SPL subs. It can handle more power than a Alpine T12, JL 12TW5 and a C12, but it at a cost of Freq Response at only 40Hz.
I'd like to see what other peoples view are on these being used and possibly a decent contender as an solid shallow sub.
