PE carries what appears to be a slightly newer model of theXT25G. Looks like a tweeter with a hardon.

DEAD DEAL

Someone thought they were a good deal since the auction is now closed (there were multiple pairs).

I could do that, but doesn't that kinda defeat some of the purpose for going active?
not really. If you already know what you'll keep the x-over at, I don't see anything wrong with making a passive. Active simply allows you to 'actively' change things. If you don't need that ability with a certain driver, then you don't need it. ;)

I had always thought it would eat up the efficiency.

Is that just on the cap/inductor side of things, or does that go for the coil for the woofer as well?
Resistors get hot and are used to attenuate speakers { in some instances }, a capacitor of the correct size for the ohmage of your driver will serve as a highpass filter .

An inductor [ or coil ]serves as a lowpass filter ]

People who don't put a cap on their positive wire have been known to damage their tweeters.

Great tutorial.

I have that issue but I don't like pulling those older issues out...I'd rather read online.
