Weak midbass/Accordo

My front setup is a three way with a utopia 8WM for my front midbass. 8wm are being powered by Audison M6D bridged. I “tuned” my system with the built in accordo wizard but my midbass sounds weaker than the factory did. Crossovers are 80-300 LR24. I checked for polarity but it checks out. Does anybody have experience with the Audison Accordo tool? Any troubleshooting tips for a newbie? I feel like I’m overlooking something.

What was the target curve like? If the Audison Accordo tool is trying to achieve a flat response, then the mids and tweeters are probably too hot.

Or try 12db but that affects phase with midrange more
I think you were referring to the mid bass high pass, so wouldn't that effect the mid bass/sub phase?

Did you flatten the OEM signal? Bit tune does a decent job trying to flatten but still need to verify.

Also agree dropping them to 50-60 hz and matching your sub up to that

Nobody has asked... and it's kinda important.
"what are the other speakers you are running? and what is your crossover point between the midbass and midrange?"

It has already been mentioned that your midbass curve looks pretty weak.
  • 80Hz is a good starting point. But that 8WM can easily ply down to 70Hz - I'd try it there.
  • 300Hz is also a pretty good starting point for midrange crossover - but it depends on what the other driver is (and where it's located)
Try to smooth out the ramp (the area in red).
It looks way too steep and you're losing a lot of midbass punch in that area.
See if you can get it to follow a more gradual like (like I drew in yellow):

I'm using the umik 1 with the 90 degree calibration but pointing forward towards the windscreen / dashboard. Reason - it kept saying that the volume for one of the speakers was too low when pointing up.

you have to hold down the control button then click up to increase volume

So far I’ve only let the Accordo software do its thing. I haven’t done any manual sweeps yet. I ran across this YouTube channel “Socket”. Been watching a few videos to make sure I know how to use REW. It’s very informative, I would recommend a newbies like myself.

My only issue with accordo is the mic volume setting - it always complains it's too low and watching Audison vids on utube there is a step which I never see where the user sets the volume. Anyone else with bittune 3.x see the mic adjustment screen?
