........ heard anything like this before in a vehicle.i have a 93 ford explorer,full deadened.my system consists of orion old school sx series amps,50w ea. tweet,150w ea. mid,200 ea of 4 subs,alpine 9833 deck,200 amp alt,0/1 power wire.now for the good stuff...... i just installed a set of lcy108 ribbons(kicks) and seas ca18rnx mids(doors).i have played around with some of the best car audio gear in 2way and 3 way sets,and boy have i wasted a lot of time and money(avi,alpine,rockford,eclipse,soundstream,aura,mtx,phoenix gold,sony,pioneer),to name a few.the midbass output from these drivers is phenomenal!and the ribbons,well let's just say people are starting to wonder what the grin is all about when i'm driving.then i let them have a listen and they leave with thier hand pullin out thier wallet.this is a very informative site and i am one happy camper!!never again will i shell out cash for a packaged system when i can DIY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thanks for listening /end rant/

I really love those Seas CA18RNX. I try to recommend other options to people, but seriously these are SO hard to beat... especially when they're only $56 each.

Since I've been using ribbons, I just can't get excited listening to domes anymore... they just sound so boring :lol:

Nice murphman, I can't wait to see those kicks finished. I agree with you on the CA18RNX, I bought a pair and absolutely love them.

LOL npdang's hooked on his ribbons. I'm so glad I still can't tell the difference between ribbons and domes. (I hope I never will, I don't have $400 and time to install/tweak ribbons)

you cant hear a difference???!!!

the difference is pretty big..!

Im not using my ribbons in my car right now, im using Seas Lotus 4.5" and Lotus Ref 1" aluminums and they sound pretty damn good (very good - midrange is soo much better out of these Lotus Ref mids) but everytime i get in my friends car, with LCY ribbons, it makes me want to change back - but i never have time to get around to it....

..just because i wanted to try out my Lotus Ref mids and i didnt have a baffle that will hold my Lotus mids with my LCY ribbons..so i just used the baffle i had already made for my Lotus Ref mid/tweet combo...

They sound really damn good - to a point where i could very much live with them, but then as soon as i hear ribbons again, they just make me sad....

Ill make baffles for my LCY's and Lotus mids someday.... <<then someday ill finish my kickpanels......... :lol:
