I am looking for an HU for under $200.00 my selection is limited because of the vendor source and discount I can get. I would like a good crossover or active if possible, DTA (Time aligment) and at least a 5 band EQ or PEQ. I know based on these needs the Pioneer 80PRS is the best, the thing is I rather save $60- $80.00 and stay passive or bi amping rather than active and no HD radio.
The ones below have BT, HD, TA and good passive xovers. Again, I just need a unit with DTA and xovers that can be independent for front and rear if possible and 5 bands or more EQ Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood (not able to get an excelon model)
It does not seem that any of the Pioneers models below the 80prs have active xovers or even a DTA (time alignment or correction). If you know of any please let me know.
I can get some JVC's, the only thing I dislike JVC's is not including AAC files to play with flashdrives when all itunes libraries are AAC files, again some sites lack info.
Below are 3 choices? Does anyone know the difference between the Alpine 148BT and 149BT? $50.00 price difference more for the bt149 and other than the cd having to be loaded after removing the face plate I have not been able to find a difference worth the extra $50.00 between these 2 Alpine units.
Also if using an Ipod I read reports that once you turn off the ignition key, it looses the the track or will not start from where it was. JVC has no issues with this, maybe it is just an iphone issue and not ipods?
Also with the Kenwood BT955HD (is this an active Xover? it has separate settings just for the tweeters besides mids and sub) Tweeter HP, MHP and LP, see specs.
Kenwood KDC-BT955HD CD receiver at Crutchfield.com
Alpine BT148
Alpine CDE-HD148BT CD receiver at Crutchfield.com
Alpine BT149
Alpine CDE-HD149BT CD receiver at Crutchfield.com
My gut feeling tells me the Alpine will have better SQ and audio options, it is just not listed on the specs. And the Kenwood seems tempting with the crossover just for the tweeters. Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks
Al
