Hey everyone. I've been kinda creeping around the forum for a while and decided to make my own account as there is alot of useful information here.

So basically what I have is a 2011 Honda Accord lx-s non-navi 6 speaker system. I'm looking at adding two amps one for the subs I plan to install and one for the speakers. I plan on using the factory Hu and need help. I'm used to getting a new head unit and using the rcas on the back but I'm lost this time around. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What are you trying to get out your upgrades? Ear-bleeding SPL? Excellent signal quality? Something in between?

What is your total upgrade budget?

How confident are you about your DIY install skills? System tuning abilities?

The car is my daily driver so I'm not looking for something that's gonna win a spl competition. I am looking for decently loud but if it means sacrificing quality I'd rather have quality.

For the time being this is just so I can add subs and amps to the car but be able to build off of it down the road. As far as budget I am looking for something that I can justify spending just to add subs while keeping the stock head unit as opposed to just switching out the stock head unit with an aftermarket one and going that route. As far as install I'm quite confident that I can do it but I have never messed around with tuning but I'm sure I can learn.

There's a Million brands we can do but for me IM liking RE Audio
they have new SA amps real small and put out power SA 1500.1 does at .6 ohm
only 10.78 in long like 1.57 tall and 3in or 4in wide only draws 80 amps.
then 4ch even smaller. for comp speakers kind of deep RE XXX comp set 6.5 comes in 2 ohm spend the money on the sub RE MT 10 in get in Dual 1.2 VC small 2cu ported box from Atrend 10LSV box total 2.25cu internal 1.85 cu

Just for right now it's just for the purpose of adding subs and an amp. Which I could do by just upgrading the head unit. So I want it to be under the cost of a head unit. Otherwise I can't justify it.

Do locs and the processors start with the same first base operations that I'm looking for which is being able to add to the system?

I'm assuming the stock head unit you have has a built-in amplifier at the LX trim level.

What you're looking for is taking the high level speaker level outputs and converting that to low level RCA outputs that your amplifiers will accept.

Some amplifiers accept high level speaker outputs, so you may not necessarily need a LOC or DSP.

Pretty much all stock head units with an integrated amplifier don't put out a flat signal.

If the 2011 Accord is anything like my Accord, the main issue is that most of information below 80 hz is attenuated.

A LOC with a bass restoration feature or DSP will do the high level to low level conversion and help with the stock system's EQ curve.

I know on the EXL Accords there is an external which is because they run a 7 speaker with sub. Mine is just a 6 speaker no amp. Integrated into the head unit but not external if that matters.

Has anyone used or heard stories (good or bad) about the audiocontrol lcq -1? I started looking into it recently and it looks like a solid mounting point for me. Anyone have any in site on this product?
