Why are car audio people so d*** snobby? Why is it so hard to get legitimate help?

Something I've yet to ever see. Music industry everyone is more than willing to help. Baseball, same. BMX, same. Car audio???? Ehhhhh..... Hahahaha. I've never seen so many people so quick to bash new comers. When they themselves (more than likely) started like me. Confused and lost, yet willing to learn. But, can't seem to get help, than didn't come from the side of a mouth under slanted eyes. Why is this??? I stopped reading replys on my truck stereo (or my "amp overheating" thread) when I realized that 9 out of 10 people only wanted to bash the brand I chose because(like everything else) I couldn't get help.

I had (still have cuz I usually don't sell my stuff "Ain't nobody got time for that") a Crescendo symphony s1 plus for my sub amp while it did great at 2ohms it would get hot AF when ran at 1ohm and go in to protect after half hour even at moderate listening levels. Crescendo would be a step up from recoil and I can tell you that is cheap AF even though it's highly rated with the SPL community. I replaced it with an MMATS and that thing didnt even get warm on a 4 and 6 hour drive to and from Vagas in the 100+ degree weather (cant say that much about my other amps though). I tried helping in your first post and I don't think anybody was being snobby or disrespectful. But again I've spent my teenage/tweenage working construction in an oil refinery filled with grunts and extreamly sarcastic ppl I've developed a thick skin when it comes to ppl and I've taken in some of them traits. Try not to take offense to ppl on the internet especially if they truly are trying to help. And ill say it one more time for good measures, even if your install was up to par your amps will probly still run hot because it's not a good brand with cheap components, I'd be surprised if it even has a fan. SPL - SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL ⬅ There's a forum that deals with ppl that want get loud AF and annoy the car next to them. But I promise they are not going to give you any different answers. Good luck

Lol wait a minute, I just re-read that post of over heating amp. It was full of good, useful, non-snobby, and helpful responses. I don't understand where your coming from. The only thing I saw that you may have taken offense too was when some one question your source that said Recoil was the same as JL and Kicker and something about Robot underground. 🤖 I'll be back I'm gonna make a new post " Why are new members so sensitive to good advise when they ask for help with their budget equipment not perform like name brand". I'm just kidding don't sue me, even some Name brand stuff is junk. I did see that you said you drove from Tennessee to CA without an issue, so in reality you don't have a problem. Why even post asking for help.
Lol funny you say that 4 hours to vagas 6 hours back, about 3 hours in my salt 400.2 went into protect and around the same time on the way back. M6 went into protect about 5 hours in on the way home. M4dsp had no issues but it's only driving my midrange's and tweeters so not much power being used. I'm thinking an arrangement of pc fans in my amp Rack but I also don't want it to look ghetto. Mmats didn't even get warm. It sounded funny with just the sub, mids, and tweets. Lol

I need to go and look at your amp rack build, I’m using very similar equipment and make frequent 7 hour drives. Integrating fans for my build now will certainly be better than waiting to have an issue.

Normally hate hijacking a thread, but I’m fine with it in this case. Lol

are the amps spaced away from the rack? Do you think that would help with air flow and cooling. I was thinking of using spacers under mine.
No there is no spacers, and it probly will help with Airflow. That's a great idea thanx 😊. I got some stuff saved in my Amazon cart I was looking at a few days ago.

Funny thing is this thread was about ppl not helping, then the group proceeds to help each other out.🤪

It did, I got a kick out of it, eventually my M6 turned back on after it cooled down. M6 drives my centre 2 way and bridged to my midbasses. What sux about the salt is that you have to cut the power to it (turn car off) for it to come back to life. I only take trips that long maybe twice a year and I have no issues during normal driving (work, family outings) so I'm in no rush to address the issue but I know it's there, which bugs me.

Hey so what do you guys suggest for fan, size and rpm? I have a 115vac 12" fan I have been thinking of using. Too loud tho. The rc car fans are loud but move air. Idk what to do.

Like how many fans?

My old RF amp gets hot🔥. 🥵 when running them L8 and es02a.

I'll get another amp to resolve that tho. Grounds are Good!😅
I was thinking 1 fan per amp, now I want to put spacers on the amps too. Just to get air moving through them those noctua fans have really good reviews. I don't really care about how loud they get music drowns out pretty much everything. The MMATS has 2 fans and if my seats are are folded down you can hear it with music off but if my seats are up you won't notice them. Most of the time my seats are up but sometimes I want a lil more bass and 1 seat comes down when I running my single Brahma. With my dual SQL there's no need to bring the seat down.

I love this place too, took a while for me to start interacting but I had been reading for months before I joined. I only posted once before I posted my build asking for suggestions. My build turned a drastic way after that. This place made me rethink my build in the best possible way. I deviated from my idea of "16 tweeters, 16 mids 0 midbasses, and a wall of subs" that I learned from YouTube. Every one's contribution is much appreciated. Including all the "snoddy" remarks I think they are hilarious 😃

My mistakes are going to get passed down to my son when he starts driving. I'm looking for a shiny used bucket for him to drive. And I have a bunch of sundown, pro mids, tweets, even a SD component set, couple Kicker components and subs, so many sealed tester boxes, a arrangement of cresendo amps, Dayton Dsp, a grip of wire left over 0, 4 gauge, speaker wire, RCAs etc, etc. I'm panning to tare the car apart with him so he (we) can learn something. Some good ol father son bonding. Stuff I wished I would have done with my pops. Probly would have saved me from almost burning down my car as a teen with wire from Radio shack.

Man I wish I could fit a brahma. Thinking of going sealed vs IB. I not sure on the sub for sealed yet. I will likely end up doing some fiberglass work to make cubes while

I just checked out these fans. These are awesome! And cheap too. 💯💯💯
I think the regular Brahma 12 only needs 1 cubic ft but the X didn't like 1'. I Settled with 1.5 on the X. One thing to note with Adire is if you happen to have issues with their products their return policy sucks and there's a possibility of them ghosting you like they did me. My Brahma makes a tapping sound with high excursion. It's not maxing out, it kinda sounds like something is hitting the dust cap. It sounds good but it bothers me, I think my dust cap is loose some where. After I bought it I talked to Some one about it all they said that 1' was too small but after that it went In to a ported box and the sound went away. So I let it go. But now that it went into the 1.5 sealed it started again. So I sent a bunch of Emails and they never responded so, I called and I was told to Email them and they would send an RMA. They never did, and I've sent a bunch of emails. I've called many times, left msgs and nothing. 🤷🏽 the X D4 is out of stock so maybe that's one of the reasons they can't replace it. But I'm a reasonable person I'll except A D2, I'll even pay the difference for a Kali if they let me. I love my Brahma X but their costumer service blowes. I may just buy a D2 and put mine back in the ported box cuz it didn't have issues in that box. Sorry for rambling I just had to get that out of my system. An other sub for that works really well in sealed boxes are the SQLs but the Brahma gets louder with less power and the X can handle more thermal than the SQL for way longer. Both are great subs in sealed boxes, that's why I have both. But if you can fit 2 SQLs 1' each it's phenomenal.

Yea man I was gonna say I read tapping issues with it in sealed boxes. All the folks say ported and no more tap.

SQL? I forget who makes that. FI?
Stereo integrity, I think the SQLs are on sale right now. Really good price/performance ratio. I love mine. And I believe some have said they they work good IB too but sealed they smash. But they power hungry.

I think you need like 9" depth for the SQL and a couple inches in front but I have these grills on mine that work very well
