not sure if this had been posted before; the question is do you really need Mid-range speakers based on the curves below, especially, in a cramped car cabin?
So your argument is that 2-ways are good enough? Sure, they can be. 3-ways can offer more flexibility but take more to install and tune. If you don't want a 3-way then don't use a 3-way. Simple as that.
P.S. Most people here incorrectly refer to woofers in a 2-way system as mids. Don't get confused. Even someone trying to sell a pair of Adire Audio Extremis 6.8s on here is calling them 'mids.' lol. 'Mid' ALWAYS means midrange (it NEVER means 'midwoofer'/'midbass') and midranges are incapable of bass response. Period.
looks to be from a mid/high driver setup. low end response drops at 100hz. even with vehicle transfer function, doesn't look like you will get much bass. using a larger driver to run to 3-5k typical of tweeter handoff won't look too good either. and even if it did, with the bass drivers installed in rear, this will screw up stereo image and drag soundstage to the rear.
