Will it hurt to have 540amp alts pushing to 2 kinetik hc2000 batteries that arent haveing alot of power being pulled from them, im ready to put in componets but not subs yet

A 540 amp alt ? Holy ****es ! What kind of alt is that ?

Fish
 A Five Hundred And Forty Amp Alternator?
but to answer your question, is it OK to power your headunit with a battery that is capable of a thousand cranking amps?
I guess it's a good thing you can't force current... lol...
540 amp alt and 2 batt's, those must be the most powerful components ever built, I guess those are the type of component speakers that dont require you to even have subs as they push 150db's from each door! ;)

2 amps at idle. :D:laugh:

Bias is set kinda hot, warms up the sound, keeps them in class A longer.
Maybe he meant to say five 40 amp alts. :p
holy sh*T... I don't know what I think about that....

Aaron is right... just 'cuz the water is turned on @ the street doesn't mean the house is flooded.... Oh wait... that is tooo cryptic... never mind...

Rob

You can type **** here, and **** too, even cocksucker...you know that don't you?

You don't have to type sh*T, and f*Ck.
To the OP. We're obviously poking fun a bit at your expense because 540 amps is an AWFUL lot for an alternator. What kind of alt is it?

But to answer your question, current is pulled, not pushed through a circuit. So, the "load", "draws/pulls" current as necessary. Meaning a 360 watts on a 12 volt circuit would only be pulling 30 amps. Current is never pushed, so at no point would the alternator "push" 100 amps to a load that's not demanding it.
ok guys i know what im talking about it is a dual setup 2 270 amp alts it will power 2 kinetik batts, 6400 watts of sub amps and 1200watts in componets the sub will be installed a month after comps i just wanted to know if it would hurt anything to have that much power with so little use of it at first
sorry if i confused yall

1200w going to the components... wow... how many sets is that? 20?

SPL machine.. lol...
Hey I plan on 1200W to my components (active). Is there something wrong with that?

No.

I'd use 2000 if I had the electrical system to support it, and the amps.:D
Minor details. Electrical system? Bah! Who needs it when you have VBA.

To answer your question...

The answers given previously regarding "pulling" current is the one you should be reading.

You can have a 10,000 AMP alternator, but if the system demands 10 AMPS, then you get 10 AMPS.

The only thing I could think of to cause harm is the parasitic loss of uselessly spinning alternators. Not that you'll be worrying about gas mileage with alternators like that, nor horsepower. Right?

Hey there is nothing wrong having an alt built like a cement mixer motor! :D
