Winter meet... Feb 4th - Pulaski, VA

Setting up a small (although no actual limit) meet for February 4th in Pulaski. The park itself is located 5 minutes from I-81, address 5100 Alexander Rd, Dublin, VA 24084. In February, we'll have no issues using the big shelter and having power available. Plenty of hotels right off the interstate.

I'll likely plan to head down Friday afternoon, potentially dinner at Als on First, then Saturday at the park. Bearing in mind it'll likely be pretty chilly, but so far, the weather has been good. So you'll want to bring warm clothing. We've had a winter meet twice I believe, both times the sun was shining.

Commenting to also be on the radar.
x2 Not sure I’ll want to brave the cold but I’ll think about it.
Just saw that it’s about 5.5 hours from me. I’m a no unless there’s someone going that would be willing to tune my new car, then I’m a more than likely.
I’m definitely out now. I’m taking my son to a Journey & Toto concert that night.

I’m back to a maybe. I’m trying to get my wife to take the kid to the concert so I can go to this. I should know by this weekend.

Hope so....i want to hear your Avalon now.
While I am enjoying it, and it sounds really good, it only has crossovers & time delay set. It sounds good, but there’s definite potential.

If your make it, there might be enough people there someone can help you with tuning. The last couple meets we've had this time of year have been a fairly low turnout (this one is looking like the biggest yet, which is great) which has meant longer demos and time to work on tuning if needed.
I gotta be honest, that’s one of the biggest reasons I want to make this one. I’m gonna have the discussion with “the boss” tonight and we’ll see where that leads.

As of right now I’m in. I might wait until next weekend to book the hotel room just to be sure. I’m gonna try to be there Friday evening/night depending on when I can get out of work. I think I remember it being about 5.5hrs for me so I may or may not be there in time for dinner.

Booked at the Hampton.

Bringing the toaster with all of the stuff in it that doesn't work for SQ. :ROFLMAO:
YAY!!! I’ve been looking forward to hearing this. You still up for doing a tune?

And it looks like I’ll probably burn a vacation day so I will be down in time for dinner Friday. Planning on getting there about 4-4:30ish. Maybe sooner if I feel like hitting the road earlier.
After-party in the Hampton parking lot?
The smart thing is to split/share rooms.
i got a single king room. I’ll share with someone if they don’t mind a little spoon action. 😎

I’m not staying Sat night.

I ask my wife to go with me everytime I go to a GTG or competition. Not once has she taken me up on it. Probably because she thinks we are a little crazy. Are we? I don't think she gets it.
I always ask mine as well. I KNOW she doesn’t get it, but she’s always happy I have something to occupy my time even if it costs a bit of our bank account. Yes, we’re crazy.
I'm also not exactly the most comfortable person in social settings, takes a lot for me to not just sit silently! But this group of guys are really easy to be around which is why I count all of them, including you, as friends.
This is also me. It’s hard to tell, especially after you’ve gotten to know me but I am EXTREMELY socially awkward. I obviously tend to open up more as I get to know someone. I actually bailed on the first few meets because of the anxiety of being around a lot of people I didn’t know but after some nudging from the previously mentioned wife I bit the bullet. Everyone was extremely nice & welcoming and now I look forward to them every year.

If there’s anyone reading this now that’s never been to one and thinks they’d be uncomfortable, I’m telling you you’re missing out on a great time with great people… come out, you won’t regret it.

Also… I’m also coming down I81 and was planning on being there sometime between 3-5ish (I just haven’t decided a departure time yet). If anyone wants to convoy/meet up, let me know.

I’m out. Will be at Bertholomy’s next one.

Hit a nasty pothole and broke an air ride sensor arm.

Stuck driving the Chevelle as a daily.
Nooooooooooo.

See you in May.
Depends on what you’re planning & what time is still considered evening. I’m planning to depart about 6-ish or so.
I got a call at 3:45 Sunday morning. Dad passed.

I’m currently in Kentucky with my brother working through everything.
I’m so sorry to hear this.
Mine passed 11 years ago at 65. I still remember like it was yesterday. It never gets easier… you just get used to it.

That's not a bad idea, last time the parking was minimal there.

What time do you figure you'll be headed past New Market area? I'm thinking of leaving here at about 12-1pm, would put me there about 45 minutes or so later.
I was planning to leave no later than 11 so that would put me there roughly 1:30-ish, so right in that window. I can always message you when I hit the road so I can give you an ETA.
