Have tried to google the answer to this with no luck.

The scenario:
-Using high level inputs to a 4 channel amp which will bridge channels 3/4 to a sub
-Channels 1 and 2 will power component speakers in the front
-Having the HU still power the stock rear speakers

The high level input assumes you're passing in 4 sets of inputs Front L, Front R, Rear L, Rear R. If I'm only planning to run FL and FR to the amp, can I just combine FL and RL, and FR and RR in the input harness? Or do I have to actually splice the RL and RR outputs and run them to the amp for high level inputs... even though I won't output those to the rear speakers?

Thanks!

Do NOT combine any signals from between the front and rear speaker outputs.

Tell me which make and model amplifier are you using and I will give you an exact answer on how to connect things.

Thanks for the reply - I'm using an Alpine MRP-F300. To be clear - I was asking about combining input signals to the high level inputs, not combining anything on the output side... not sure if that was clear or not in my post.

To be fair, I have used front speaker input split into both front and rear inputs of an Alpine amp before with zero issue. It was not however this particular amp model!

Is it not the same as using a Y splitter with one RCA input to run front and rear channels?

OK, I understand. Yes, you should be able to split the FR/FL outputs from the headunit into all inputs of the amp.

Connect HU FL speaker output to Ch1 and Ch3 amp high level inputs
Connect HU FR speaker output to Ch2 and Ch4 amp high level inputs

Remember, you can only drive a 4 ohm (or higher) sub when bridging this amp.
