I expect that the OP might ask to have it tested by someone near if they have one. Not sure how you twisted that into purchasing.

It is clear to me that he need to purchase a new or used one, or find one to hire/borrow.
(At least that is what I was implying when I wrote the post #2.)

Then whether they keep it or seek it is up to them.
If they are doing a lot of $50 subs then they should keep it.

I bought a DATS, and my friend who is into building speakers also bought one.

But we are probably not representative of the usual demographic of people playing with cheap speakers?

First thing I Would is post the Model # of the sub..

I wouldn't have even made this thread without that info.

^That scenario^ is exactly when a DATS become more than a pretty box.
