Short history on my car audio set up...a few years back I decided to replace the stock set up in my 98 Mustang GT as the Mach Stereo isn't exactly the pinnacle of set ups. After reading this forum for a while now I decided my first step was to sound deaden the doors/trunk with Raammat and Ensolite -- and what a difference that made. Here is what is currently in my car:
Head Unit: Alpine 9883
Component: Infinity References
Amp: Alpine F-250
Sub: Powered MTX sub (gift from a friend...I know)
Now that I've decided to put in a set up worth listening to I came to question -- Should I step up my Head Unit from the 2v PreAmp outputs to the 4v outputs offered in the Alpine-9887? Will the difference be negligible without better equipment? At what point would I start seeing a difference?
In the future I'm planning on switching out most/all of the current components but I'm too busy now reading various reviews on here! Thanks for the insight!
