I think there is a switch on the side of the unit to switch from a 2way to a 3way.

Also, you really need to be using the remote and there really isnt much you can do with it from the face plate.

I have a service manual, however...

I do have the remote, and you are right about limited functionality without it. I did find the switch, but setting up the crossover network, and eq was not as intuitive as I hoped. Does the service manual cover this

I will give avic411 a shot

Sorry I shouldd have clarified Avic 411 is a help site. Kinda like diyma that is informative about pioneer avic head units but you may be able to get info on your particular piece of equipment.

From the top of my head, you need to use buttons 1 thru 6 to toggle phase, slopes, lp, hp, etc, and I think the left and right arrow to adjust.

Its been awhile.
