I see your posts all the time and was wondering how you actively participate in this hobby when you are in Germany. Having lived there myself for 9 years I wonder where you work on the car, and what car you drive? I hope you will ship the car back when you PCS out.

When we lived there you could go to the Post car shop and rent a space and use their tools. Do you still have that option?

Well I've been a LOT less active that I'd like to be because the weather flat-out sucks most of the year but the house I rent off base has a garage so space isn't a problem. Sourcing the parts and materials I need can be, however. I can go to the auto hobby shop but for the most part I don't need to. Almost anything I'd need to do I can do in the garage and anything I can't I probably shouldn't be messing with to begin with so it goes to the dealer for that. Other than that it's a lot of ordering and waiting and working when I can. I'm definitely bringing my MINI with me. I wanted to bring my M3 with me but long story short, I was burning WAY too much fuel and $9/gal and filling up every other day or every 3 days was getting silly. I'll pick up a used one when I get back in May. No, it won't be "my" M3, but I'm sure I can find one that will do the trick.
