Xtant A6001 vs JL audio 500/1

Hi guys!

I search a amp for my subwoofer Coral XL 10 + passive radiator Coral XP10. This sub is made by Peerless.

nominal impedance (Zn) 4 ohm
nominal power (Pn) 400 watt
max power (Pm) 800 watt
sensitivity (2.83 V/1 m) 88 dB
frequency range (BW) 20÷300 Hz
resonance frequency (Fs) 31 Hz
voice coil diameter 51 mm
cone material composite cellulose
surround material SBR rubber
basket material aluminium die cast
magnet material ferrite
mechanical Q factor (Qms) 4.2
electrical Q factor (Qes) 0.31
total Q factor (Qts) 0.28
moving mass (Mms) 154 g
compliance (Cms) 0.17 mm/N
equivalent volume (Vas) 25.3 litres
force factor (BxL) 18.8 N/A
voice coil resistance (Re) 3.5 ohm
voice coil inductance (Le) 4.6 mH
emission diameter (D) 206 mm
linear excursion (Xmax) ± 12 mm

I have seen these two amps. Xtant A6001 and JL Audio 500/1. Which is best amp to my sub?

Thanks!

I will used crossover of Clarion HX-D3
Still the JL 500/1 has a RIPS in the power supply which allows it to put out 500watts RMS @ 1-4ohms.

I personally would. Especially with a bad experience with Xtant amps (first gen). I had a few and couldnt find anyone to repair them some even said they where hard to diagnose.

The JL 500/1 has better technology than the old Xtants.

I desagree.
I already had this JL and Xtant
Xtant can reach easily [email protected] at 14,4V
Xtant also has a great cone control, also very fast processing..
I prefer the xtant than this JL
The problem its to find xtant products
Sorry for bad english.

200 RMS is small amount and your electrical will never be at 14.4, so this is invalid.

Cone control???? Irrelevant

Fast processing???? Irrelevant

Winner is JL hands down.

Not to mention the rating on the JL 500/1 is 500watts RMS @1.5-4ohm (11.5v-14.5) so you know what your going to get all the time not just when the car is on. Vehicles do reach 14.4v but thats only when running and no: radio, ac/heater, headlights on, amplifiers. As soon as you turn on a few of those things voltage drops to around 14v (depending on car and charging system).

Irrelevant???How that's possible??
One of the few qualities most important in a mono amplifier to me, its cone control. With that, the sub can excurse more, without distorting, and can be much more accurate without tangle.
Fast processing? With a bigger slew rate, the amp can yield much more
I wouldnt be so sure about jl winning
@14v i garantee that xtant reachs [email protected]

A little history - JL Audio started with only subwoofers. In the beginning, they did not make amplifiers. Before JL Audio had their own line of amplifiers, they used Xtant amps for demos/show cars.

I heard that they used Precision power ampsin the beginning, my source must have not been correct on this or what?

My mistake, you sold Xtant but did not use them in shows. My point was that the folks at JL promoted/endorsed Xtant at some point.

That said, the current JL Audio amplifiers are better than anything mentioned in this thread ever was.

I though the guys that made the JL amps also made the old Xtant amps.
Or should I say designed instead of made.

Every Xtant amp I had sounded great.
JL also.
I would think both would be hard to fix due to the SMT parts.
Getting the schematics would be a plus. Anybody have schematics on the Xtant A series?
