The Zapco amp puts only 300 watts when bridged at 4ohm and the Morel takes up to 1000 watts rms. Would the sub be ok with this amount of power going to it?
I would says its ok but to be on the safe side get a 6.0 or something a lil bigger then a 6.0. (9.0 would work if you want to) the 3.0 will be fine but you will always be stressing out the amp if you plan on using its full power always. Its better to have a 6.0 and have headroom and it wont be stressing the amp out as much if you dont use all the power. It is always good to have double the power of what speakers and subs are rated for for head room and not stressing out the amps giving the amp longer life and the speakers a lesser chance of going into distortion. Thanks for the reply. I actually already have the amp, so I would need to match a sub to the Zapco and not the other way around. I was hoping the Morel would work, but maybe I need the 2 ohm version.
