If you scroll thru the banners when you open the app, one of them should be for the ONE UI Beta Program. I'm not sure which models its available for. I know the newest S23 series (Reg, +, and Ultra) but not sure about any of the others (A series, Fold, Flip, etc... )
That was one thing I noticed. I have the s21, so I'll see what I can find out.
Thanks.

Yes and no. I have T-Mobile but a phone bought direct from Samsung. If I had bought my phone from T-Mobile then I would have to wait for T-Mobile to test and add their crap on top of Android + Samsung One UI before they pushed it out to end users.

Since my phone is a non carrier version, I get updates direct from Samsung.

You can load custom ROM's without either the carrier, or even Samsung stuff, essentially loading basic Android directly onto a carrier locked phone. But, that's becoming increasingly harder to do so which is a bit of a shame. Used to flash all my phones with custom ROM's that had no carrier or manufacturer stuff on them, but the last couple phones I have had you had to basically run both the software that came with the phone and then a 2nd OS that you picked upon boot.
This is one reason why I choose Google Pixel phones! I easily root, then flash monthly when the updates are posted. All factory images and easily updated monthly. Root is a bonus.

Maybe but my pixel 6 pro was the worst phone I've ever bought when new. It was so damn buggy they released the 7 early like 6 months early.

Here I am 1.5years later and it's still slightly buggy and battery life sucks.

Some things I like about the pixel but the s20ultra was leaps and bounds above this phone even though both were flagship models.

That's weird. I love our regular Pixel 6's. My wife and I have them and no issues with either. I never have to charge it during the day. Must be a pro thing or bad luck.

Alot of the 6pros were fine but they were also replacing them left and right under warranty. I should've had mine swapped. My flash has never worked since day one nor the flashlight function.

I don't really care about that but the screen has been replaced 3x now which considering I went 12years before that not breaking the screen I question it's durability.

But like i said I'm still using the phone so it's not all bad least after the 30th update

We just replaced my wife's pixel 3 with the 8 Pro. The first thing I noticed was how nice the screen was. The refresh rate is so much higher than the pixel 3 its insane. I'll get one for myself in a few months. I had debated on just keeping my work iPhone but after seeing hers, I want one for myself haha.

I might try the new pixel next year honestly if they offered a dap that could take a sim card if be more interested in that

I haven't had I chance to play with it yet but I will... one day soon. But I have no way of checking the bitrate coming out.

Is there a way withought having to buy a 200$ topping?

Do you have UAPP on your phone? It will show you the bit rate of the song you are playing.

I do not, I used apple music. Can these 2 work in conjunction with each other.
Doesn't look like it. I don't have apple music installed but it doesn't show up on my uapp. That app is funky to use anyway.

Personally I wish it was just a background program since navigating the app is more clunky than the native tidal app. Much like the android auto tidal app

About time they did this and hopefully all the usual vendors will take it up and run with it! I may not be fruit flavoured for much longer if this is correct 😎

Since you have used uapp, android auto and Tidal, can you give me your opinion on sound quality of Tidal thru uapp VS Tidal thru AA? is there a difference you can hear?
I have a Tidal hifi account, played thru AA, toslink to DSP, sounds awesome. Just wondering if it's worth jumping into this rabbit hole.

Tidal HiFi is only 44.1k like CD quality least that's what it shows on uapp.

Swapping from uapp on Android auto and tidal on Android auto I can't tell a difference.

My alpines native tidal app will stream higher bit and sample rate for some reason idk why exactly but the built in tidal seems to have a more impactful midrange. That said, I've not really sat down for a critical listen and I'm not a very sq oriented guy. Tidal from my phone to alpine over Ldac Bluetooth also sounds quite good.

My system is far from a competitive sq system at this point but I will say that the jump from normal Bluetooth streaming to any of my new options is drastic. But that should be the case going from a 2016 radio to a 2023 model

Thank you for the reply. I'll just stick with what I have. I forgot to add, I use Tidal to AA by wifi, BT is used for phone calls only. I do have a USB to coax converter wired in, but the never ending fight with android, phones and on the go cables just wore me down. Figured I wasn't missing out on anything.

Samsung a54 5G ordered, I have a 512gb sd card plus a hub… I also have a topping d10 handy so I can see sample rate… I’ll be impressed if this all pans out… people have accused me of being fruit flavoured before and biased… this should put an end to that… Android have truly missed a trick for years… seems they have wised up now a lot of the streaming services offer hi res etc 😎 assuming it works out and all the streaming services add the code to their apps 🥰
