Bought a 9 channel amp with 2000 watts RMS will I need to upgrade electrical?

The amp is 8 channels of class A/B with one D channel for the subwoofer. It also has dual power and ground inputs which I'm assuming the two power wires can come from a fused distribution block (typical amp power block?), but I'm not sure about the two ground inputs? Would I just run two 4 gauge wires from a ground distribution block or use two different grounds on the vehicle? Also, would it be better to just buy a positive battery terminal with dual outputs for 4 gauge wire as well as a negative battery terminal with dual outputs to run the two ground wires to the amp.

Should I be concerned about the alternator which is either 90 or 120 amps?

I'm assuming that the addition of another battery would be solely for listening to music with the engine off?

I've ran multiple amps throughout the years with probably as many watts of RMS as this amp provides so maybe I'm just being paranoid?

Its a sweet amp for sure. I used to own a Elite.5 and this Zen9 is like have a pair of Elite.5's so you may need to do some upgrades. Kind of depends on how wide open you plan to run it. i would run a single 0ga wire from battery to the amp and split it to 4ga close to the amp. Make sure you have a nice fresh battery in your car, and see how it goes. Is an upgraded alternator available for your car?

Thanks for the reply! So the car is a 2004 BMW 325i which has the battery in the trunk. The alternator is 120 amp and I haven't looked into higher amperage ones yet. I really don't crank my system at ear piercing levels and my single 10" sub never gets abused. Which is why I was thinking I might be okay as is, but figured I'd check with the experts on here.
How about the ground wires? Since battery is in the trunk should I just come off the negative terminal with two 4 gauge or run a 0 gauge from it or the ground?

I’m running 1200 watts to the sub and 840 watts to the doors and I’ve also got a 120 amp alternator.

At first the system was taxing the electrical so I installed an agm battery to replace the old one.

Then I did the big 3 and also installed a chip that boosted my alternators output from 13.8 to 14.5. This seemed to solve the electrical issues, however I noticed I would have to charge my battery all the time.

So then I installed a kinetik 2000 agm into the trunk and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever.

I'll have to look into the kinetik battery and chip thing if It becomes apparent that it is too taxing on my electrical system. Thanks for the advice!

Are you in Minnesota? I picked it up from him this morning and I must say it's the closest I've come to falling in love with a non living thing. It really is a masterpiece. Sad thing is I had just bought and hooked up a couple "old school" Soundstream Class A amps and was amazed at the difference in my listening pleasure. System sounded great before with a Focal FPD and Morel MPS, but for whatever reason (probably placebo) I was just in awe and smiling ear to ear while listening to some of my most listened to tracks. Anyways, I didn't get a great deal on the Zen9 so I'm hoping that the sonics of it will make up for it. Will report back as I hope to get it installed in my vehicle tomorrow. Take care!
