CarPlay Add-On Screen that connects with USB?

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask but I got zero responses on Reddit CarPlay and I usually get good responses here. I am considering getting one of these Apple CarPlay add-on screens for my wife’s 13 Escalade because doing an aftermarket radio will make the rear seat entertainment not work, and that is not an option. I’ve looked through a ton of them so far and haven’t seen any that can come to the factory radio with the USB port, only the 3.5mm aux port. For whatever reason, the 3.5mm port on this radio is on the front of the radio but the USB port is inside the center console. If I can find one that connects with USB, I can mount this where I can hide all the wires, which is preferred. This truck doesn’t have Bluetooth audio, so I can’t use that, and I’m sure the FM transmitter sounds horrible, so I’d rather not do that either. Does anyone know of any of these that connect with the USB port?

Connect your phone to the USB port and see if you can "stream" (not play from downloaded files actually stream the digital output) audio through that USB port.

Most are for mass storage devices so the HU can pick from a list of audio files - not for streaming.

If the phone works then a CarPlay add-on screen "should" work but no guarantees as I'm not familiar with all the different versions.

I can stream from Apple Music or Amazon Music in the past with the USB port. I'm not finding any of the add-on Carplay screens that can be connected to the USB port so far. I'm guessing because they're probably all basically the same Chinese unit with different screen sizes.

No you are looking at 12v with 5+amp vs. USB 5v power supply with only 0.5A. You should look into a hardwiring kit like you would for aftermarket dashcam, and wire off add-a-circuit using one of the unused fuse slot, it's pretty easy work. My wife still stuck in the past and love her Garmin and that's how I hardwire.
