DIY RCA Cable Help

So I'm planning on building custom RCA cables for my next build and a lot of the research I do comes up with contradicting results.

First of all on the drain wire for the shield some posts say it should be soldered to the rca ground on both sides, other posts say it should be soldered on one side but left open on the other (I cant see how that would do anything ) and other posts (which make sense) say it should be grounded to the amp chassis at one end and the stereo chassis at another. I'm at a loss here so for those with cable experience that would be helpful

Next question is twisted pair vs shielding. I would like to do both but I can't find a good wire (250ft for around 100 or less) that has both so between the two. Which is better. Any wire suggestions would be awesome.

Lastly is Guage really that big of a deal on rca cables or does thicker cable just take punishment longer (I'm thinking it just makes the cable a bit stronger physically 22awg seems plenty)

Well I need a bit more than 1 cable. I need 2, 2 channel 2-3ft cables from my 80prs to my bit ten (possibly 3 cables and a bit one as I may upgrade). Then from the bit ten I'll need 1 2-3 ft cable into my PAC LC-1. Then 3, 2 channel 20ft cables to go from the PAC LC1 and the back of the bit ten to the rear amp rack. I'm going to be using RCA couplers as quick disconnects on the amp rack so I'll need another 3 cables at 2-3 feet. After all of reading through Jazzi's post I've done a bit more looking and found Canare star quad for .46$ per foot plus I can order it in ranges of colors. So this seems like a good option

From there I need about 32 RCA ends. Does anyone have suggestions aside from just buying these? I thought about using the Nuetrik Connectors off of parts express but I'll be paying 24 dollars to buy enough of these ebay ones vs paying upwards of 50 for nuetrik rean connectors.
