OK. I've loaded the new software onto my Helix P-Six Ultimate... no issues.

As mentioned above, I did have to recreate everything from scratch, as the old Version 5 files don't transfer to the new software. However, as @dumdum also mentioned, they are working on this and in subsequent updates, you should be able to import your Version 5 tune file. At this time (for me) this isn't a big deal, as I am about to do a full fresh tune in the vehicle (well... AudioGal is going to do it). For this process, I only had to recreate the Input / Output structure, as well as the basic crossover points.

I'm not sure if my ears are playing tricks on me... but I swear the overall sound is slightly 'crisper' than before. The clarity just sounds a bit sharper. I could be wrong... but that's what I'm hearing in my initial listening experience.
@dumdum is this a figment of my imagination? Or has Audiotec-Fischer done some wizardry to improve the overall sound quality?

So not sure if you worked this out… when you upgrade from pct5 to pct6 the files existing in the Dsp are saved and converted to a new set of files to be loaded back in

what I did was create a folder specifically for pct6 configuration, then point the ‘save config’ process to that… it then created .pct6 files for the old setups and numbers them also with the preset number

in my case I only had a single setup… but you can load and save/write ten setup files to the Dsp before upgrading and it will then save those ten as .pct6 files to load back in and then save to the Dsp

it’s a little late after the software has been installed to know this, but hopefully can avoid some headaches in the future 👍🏼

Nope… no wizardry… that’s your ears playing tricks sadly

OK.
But I swear it does sound different... The overall Gain is definitely a bit lower (maybe 3dB lower output).
And I'm certain I'm hearing a bit more 'crispness'. But perhaps the output on the tweeters is higher.
I dunno... I'm just reporting what I'm hearing.

Yes I figured this out, after I had recreated the entire I/O and crossover structure... oh well.

Thanks for your input. Overall, the new software is an improvement.
It's like anything... just takes a bit of time and usage to get used to where things are located now.

potentially it may be the new feature which nescesitates the change of gain structure, it may be that louder in some channels sounds different incase limits are near and met in some channels post import

'Note: The introduction of a revised output limiter in brick-wall style may result in a different gain control. After importing a DSP sound setup that was created with DSP PC-Tool 4 or DSP PC-Tool 5, it is essential to check the gain structure '

Will this trickle down so older devices can eventually use it?
Yes buddy, it’s just a phased release on selected devices for a start, sorry I missed this…

Did anybody else have issues with not being able to use subwoofer volume control after turning the car off and back on? Also, all of the FX features are set to disabled but as soon as I turn the car off and back on then they are all acting as though they are enabled. I know it is beta, so it may have bugs. Mine is a mini dsp mk2 and I downloaded yesterday.

I downloaded it, the minute it was released and loaded it onto my P-Six Ultimate. It worked flawlessly right out of the gate.
We are now on Version 4 and it is still working without any issues for me...

That's great, good to hear. Mine wasn't added until version 4 and they responded to my email stating that they are aware of the issue with my model and there could be an update by the end of the week.

I just installed it for use with a M Four DSP and now I can't mute output channels. I'm able to click the mute button but it has no effect on output.
Muting the virtual channels works perfectly fine

Version 5 was released today.

Honestly, I have had ZERO issues with DSP Tool-6, since the initial release. I'm using a P-Six Ultimate.
  • Version 1 had a few bugs, and was scrapped by Audiotec-Fischer within a few hours.
  • Version 2 came out the next day, and I downloaded and installed it right away. Worked perfectly for me.
  • Version 3 came out about a week later. I never used this version.
  • Version 4 came out another week later. I downloaded it and have it on my unit now. Works flawlessly.
  • Version 5 was released today. But I have no reason to try it. Nothing new that affects / improves the P-Six.

Do they have a bug reporting tool or do we just send them an email through the contact form on the website?
Fire away and the bug reporting tool… aka me… will feed it back, I can also confirm if it’s something we are aware of as well 👍🏼

Cheers bug man!
I have the M Four DSP and have lost the ability to mute the output channels. Muting the virtual channels still works but I can't isolate my components

Passed on… they have found the issue and will be fixed on the next release 👍🏼

m4dsp some bug with tone controls on both presets, suddenly no low end and too much high end(not sure), but afrer switching on and off fixed itself and same thing as #35

Hi there dumdum,
I have the P SIX DSP ULTIMATE and the newest .05 version has a scary bug. After loading back the old preset, it will up the gain on the first channel by about 15db. Almost blew my left tweeter. I tried reloading both the software and presets with no success. The .03 version works flawlessly, and I actually think the system sounds a little better on the new software.
Thanks and take care.

Can you email me the file that was saved in .03 and then imported to .05 that exhibits this issue please so I can pass it on, I’ll drop you a message now
