I have cut into the door card to make room for them. I did not have to cut the metal of the door though. The stock opening once the factory adapter was removed is plenty big enough for air passage and only the edge of the magnet even goes in that far.

I had a 7" in the door before. My problem on the Toyota Sequoia is that they are shallow. No depth at all. I should have went with the L6, but I thought the L8 would work without any problems.

Is it a 2008-newer Sequoia? I have the same doors (2010 Tundra) and got those beasts to fit. Believe me, not without a struggle.

Proof: Here's the L8's are going in. It took double-stacked 3/4-inch spacers to keep the motors out of the way of the window.

The door panels took some shaving on the backside to avoid interfering with the cone movement. It wasn't easy, but not impossible.

Yeah those HAT L8's are too deep for most guys doors, damn near 4"

You;d be better off trying a different 8" if you can't get these to work. Most guys hate the L6's in the door from what i hear

Mine is an 04 Sequoia, so it is the older body style. I built the baffle and thought I had it figured out, but I could not get it to clear the glass.

DAT: Any suggestions on replacements? Since the L6 in the door is not a good option.

If depth is the controlling factor, the Morel are more shallow than the JL's. Both sets are really nice, quality BIG midbasses.
