All,

I am in search of a receiver with good channel separation in the FM band. I live between NY and Philadelphia and the FM band is jammed. Sony and Alpine both publish a Channel separation spec but Kenwood does not. The Sony seems to be hard to get and I've never been a fan of Alpine.

Since Kenwood doesn't publish this spec and I can not find any third party tests, can anyone comment on this radio's ability to distinguish between adjacent channels in a very congested area? Also, does anyone have any comments on the auto HD/Analog function? Seems like something that could be annoying just as much as useful.

Thanks
Tony

Thanks for the reply. It's a bit funny that my experience with Alpine and Pioneer are not what you describe regarding FM. Of course my experience is dated. The last Pioneer receiver I purchased was over 20 years ago.
I just wish they would all publish the same specs. Kenwood has usable sensitivity, Sony has selectivity... both useful but not by them selves.
Of course it may no matter as most everything is going or already is digital.

Too many years as a service tech I guess...
