Hello,
Having a problem with updating the firmware on my Kenwood KRC-BT855u head unit. I followed the download and install from the Kenwood site USB instructions as accurately as possible, but the unit is now displaying "Device1 No File" when the USB is inserted, "Device1 Waiting" without. I used a previously formatted FAT32 USB stick on the front mount USB port (nothing in back), downloaded only the Device 1 & Device 2 files for group "H" (nothing else on the stick) and followed the initial process through the menu so that the update can start. The display eventually stopped at "Device1 No File" after the ...Wait, ...Reading sequence. The HU is now completely locked and cannot be turned off or reset without coming back to this stuck screen. I'm sure someone has run into this problem which advice can be given. My warranty is up and I'm seriously regretting ever trying to perform a somewhat straight forward firmware update process.
