Found a really good deal on a set of Morel CDM880 mids for $354.00 new ( open box, never installed )
I have Hertz Mille Pro MP 70.3 3" mids in the dash at the moment and will be moving them to the pillar at some point. and the Morels will be a little easier to fit due to the depth of the speaker.
I'm running active on my 3 way Mille pro set so crossovers wont be an issue.

Any thoughts on how these sound compared to the Hertz 3" mids? All around they just look like a better driver but specs aren't always a true indicator of how they sound in real life.

I ran the morel cdm88 The older version like 5 years ago I liked it sounded good but they do not like low crossover points or shallow slopes I think a dome mid should only be used it u have no room or air space for a cone mid I haven't heard the new mille pro stuff but I have run the mille legend ml700.3 and I wasn't a fan if u have the ability to cross over in the 600 to 700 range I think it would be a nice mid very very different sounding than a cone mid

Well I got some of my front stage issue solved this weekend.
While mounting my amp I just happened to look at the crossover that the tweeters and mids are on till l get everything installed and wired.
Low and behold I wired it out of phase on the right side, no wonder my stage had no presence and it sounded like it was smeared across the front glass .
Still interested in a better mid, the vocals from the hertz are ok but lack something I can't quite put my finger on.

Looked at the ODR and PRS mids, ODR are out of my range at the moment as well as being next to impossible to find.
The PRS S0602 is about what I have available for funds.
Any other good options out there?
What about the Focal k2 power mids or just throwing these out there Infinity kappa perfect 300m. Or even Dyaudio MD142 soft domes?

I had the Morel CDM880's and replaced them with Scanspeak 10f's for my pillars. Like others, I wanted to have a lower crossover than the 880's are happy with so that more of the stage is up high. I love the 10f's and they are reasonable $.

The 10f would be an option but I can't get a 4" in there at the moment.
Looked at some Morel TSCW 634 mids.
Price isn't bad , just wish I could give them a listen before hand.
Found a good deal on some 6.5 " TiW 634Ft
Drivers as well that I might buy just to try in place of the Hertz mid bass I have now.
