because the company was at one time mostly HT oriented. Just Google the original HT18one thing I can say about Stereo Integrity is they don't have much love for anything smaller than a 15".
I have heard of them, but have not actually heard any Dayton subs in person. However, unlike before where I was of the mindset that there were only 2 kinds of subwoofers, JL Audio and everything else.. I am now always interested suggestions especially when I hear bang for the buck. Don't get me wrong, those JLs woofers bang.. but that's all they do! LOLThe Ultimo 12" I had was in a ported configuration then I went to my current 2 x 10" setup driven by the same 1200wrms amp.
After everything I had read about the Ultimo I was expecting more and was a bit disappointed for the money I had spent but I didn't know what to expect from the Dayton drivers and they are cheap , I was pleasantly surprised , they are very low distortion drivers and are built like tanks , some of the best bang for buck subs out there.
My son scored the Ultimo and he agrees my setup just sounds better and he has the exact same setup except for the sub..
