I know nothing about choosing an a o-scope except I only want to spend about a hundred bucks. Pretty much just want to see clipping for setting gains and looking at oem signal. I found this one:

Thoughts? Or recommendations otherwise? Thanks, Dave

Liumy just released an updated multimeter/o-scope combo device that is pretty nice. I had the previous version of the Liumy, but the screen resolution was too low on that one - made it hard to tell if the signal was clipping or if it just looked like it because of the low-res screen. :) The new one is really nice (I actually bought one just because I liked the display).

LIUMY Oscilloscope Multimeter, LM2020 New Update, Professional LED Handheld Oscilloscope Multimeter with 2.5 Msps high sampling, Automatic Waveform Capture Function, DC/AC Voltage/Current Test: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

It's marketed under a few different brands - I actually ordered this one ("Proster" brand) - it was a few dollars cheaper and I received it overnight instead of waiting a few days for the Liumy - exact same device though:

Proster Oscilloscope Multimeter Update 2.5M SPS A/D Intelligent Oscilloscope Multimeter Automatic Range Analog Bar Graph High-Speed Sampling 10M KHz Frequency: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Really haven't used it yet, but just playing around with it, I really like the display on it...

Just another option. They are nice multi-meters as well - so you'll get some use out of them long-term besides the o-scope function.

I have the new Liumy, I made a video comparing it to the old one.

The new one is a lot easier to see and use. But I don't know if I would pick it over some of the cheaper options.

Thanks for the video. Subbed to your channel too. Been using a multimeter a math but may be leaving a little on the table that way. Would be nice to see the waveform. Also seeing where the volume on the head unit distorts. The one I posted just seems like a larger better screen? And really don’t need the multimeter function. Still open to suggestions.

I asked an electrical engineer, his suggestions:
DSO nano (pocket)
Hantek (pc based)
MKS (bench)
I carry a pc for modeling and programming anyway, so i'll be going with a hantek, 4 channel is nice when doing automotive electrical diagnostics

Edit: i'm currently eyeballing the hantek 6104BD and PP90 probes, which using the x10 attenuation will give me up to 100 volt measuring capability, which translates to 20kw at .5ohm, 10kw at 1ohm, and 5kw at 2ohm, i can't see ever needing more.
