Gonna love that set the Midbass and midrange are phenomenal, I sold the mss1m before I used them but I heard they were a upgrade significantly from the original mss1 which I didn't think was a bad tweeter just not on par with the rest of the set. The mss6 is my favorite driver of the set its great.

 

I’ve yet to find an 8” that quite sounds like the mss6.
Wife’s car has oem 8’s in the doors, and I wanted to do a shallow replacement.

TM8’s seem to be the answer but I’m not sure how high they’d play up to.

I can remember 3 or 4 years ago most people on here were saying Steg was garbage. I think it was because Fred & Sound kept saying they were the best speakers in the world.

 

Steg is like the other brands they have some really great offerings and some that are just meh. The mss line is pretty great if the tweeter was better it would be amazing. Steg does make great amplifiers though I would gladly run the k series, QK series and the masterstroke series.

The TM8s will play up to 3k or so. It’s possible to run them in a 2-way with the SI tweeter, or so Nick has told me… I have no personal experience there.

I play mine up to 450Hz without any complaints.

not even top of the line masterstroke speaker set is handbuilt,..... where do you guys get those ideas?

The only top tier speakers that are handmade are ZR SpeakerLabs, Microprecision Z/Zstudio.....

 

I don't know about hand built, I believe that top masterstroke line is made by Audio Development actually so they are at least made in Italy and not far east like the other ranges. Not that it means much being made in Italy vs China both countries can produce good product.
