When I had my Tundra I ran a couple of Alpine Swr-t12 in 1.63^3ft. This was a prefab box that went under the rear seat. Possibly the best sounding setup I've ever had. I now have these subs in my Mustang and even though they sound great, they sounded better in my truck. If interested, the people I got my enclosure from also make them for your truck and I could get you the info.

That looks really nice. What size are those subs? How much would that box be?

 

That is a really nice enclosure. My truck had only 6" of clearance under the seat.

 

My enclosure was something like this and it fired down:

I got it as a temporary thing but it sounded so good that I left it there until I sold my truck last year.

Well right now I'm more interested in finding two 12"s that will work best with the box I have.

Or if I should scratch that and just run a single 10" and find the best box/sub combo that will fit in my truck.

I'd like to stay away from custom fab, as I hate waiting and would like to just buy something and get it installed quickly before my gf murders me in my sleep for constantly talking about audio parts lol.

 

For me a single 10" will not cut it, 2 I know will be fine.

 

Is that 1.32 cubic feet of total volume, or per sub?

5.25" mounting depth on a 12" sub is likely to be the toughest issue you are going to deal with. Do you have any photos of your current enclosure/installation?

My box now has a 5-1/4" mounting depth. So the alpine swr t12 would fit.

Are the sundown sd3 compareable?

 

Maybe try the Dayton LS12-44? The enclosure you have is very small, so you'll end up with a pretty high Qtc. Probably somewhere around 0.98 and the F3 will be high as well around 56 Hz. So, they won't play super low. They could easily take 1000W on the pair in that enclosure though.

 

So I'm thinking of going with the fox box dual 10" box at 36 hz

Would the ssa gcons work good with that box? With a pdx 1000.1 amp?

 

Will the sealed box from Fox Acoustics work in your truck? This one?

If so, I would contact Fox and ask them if they think this subwoofer will fit (the depth is fine, but the magnet with boot is larger in diameter) than the quoted clearance. The Seas was made for small sealed enclosures and seems a perfect pairing to the Fox enclosure, assuming it fits.

I have an 07 f150. I've opted to go a different route. I have a 60/40 split bench in the rear. I've located another 40 percent section. I'm removing the 60, building a console in the middle or the rear seats and installing another 40 sized section. It required a little welding to get the latch to the opposite side and functioning but it removes size restrictions. Doing a ported jlw6 in the console. If I ever sell the truck I can just pull the sub and leave the console. Should be pretty slick and that leaves under both sides of the rear seat to install amps.
