Good evening good people ( well, its evening in Sweden )

Well. Here we go.

This is officially the start to my first ( it will be slow ) audio install.

The equipment list to start of with will be as follows:

1. phoenix gold zda 4.6 amp with dsp, coupled with the bluetooth module eliminating the need for a head unit.

2. Ground zero gzuc 165.3sq 3 way system for the front stage, that will be run off of the pH zda. Through their respective crossovers just untill i can replace the amp to run them active. I still have a **** ton of research to do as to where and how exactly these will be mounted. Im torn between the midrange in the kick and the door. The pros and cons are not making it easy.

2.5 i have a set of ground zero gzuc 165.2 splits aswell. But, still need to do alot of homework to decide if there will be rear fill or not.

3. Rockford p2d2 12" sub coupled to a MDS torque t5 xtr monoblock.

The sub will be house in a custom sesled enclosure to the left, and the amplifiers to the right.

The vehicle in question is a 2007 renault kangoo, and will be sound treated with Gladen Aero multi dound deadening.

Pictures will natrually soon follow as soon as I start with the install. Everything will be delivered soon.

I was just way to excited now that I have managed to get the basics together to at least start the build.

Input will be greatly, immensly appreciated.

Ill just attach some pics for reference.

Have a good one.

I will take pictures asap! I can admit, just by the looks of it, i dont think it will be the most effecient platform to build on.

But we are not scared of anything🤣

I will most definitely do that after work today, to this morning but was to dark for good pics unfortunately!

But they will soon follow!

Good morning Gentleman.

Ok here we go, I took pictures as best i could in a rush.

The rear doors slide open, so if I do decide to run some sort of rear fill and the speakers end up in the doors, they would need to be mounted rather deep in order to clear the body when the door opens. But rear fill, as stated above, I still need to research alot.

As fpr the rear of the car the idea is to use the space to the sides to build an enclosure for the sub to the right, and something to display the amps to the left. But keeping the floorspace in the middle for all the other stuff I do over weekends. 🤣🤣

Hi!

A friend tested positions for mid and high in similar car, best option was - mids on top of the dash in corner between dash/pillar/windshield. Tweeters in sails. mids were tilted a bit toward listener/center of the dash. use EMMA CD to determine right angels so you get good imaging/focus results.

Fantastic, thank you very much. Info like this is golden.

And then I can slap the midbass drivers into the door panels?

you can fabricate a kind of enclosures for midbass - be it on doors since doorcard is pretty much flat, or put them in the kick panel area since there looks to be plenty of space left of clutch pedal.
If you decide to go with enclosures - pay attention to correct volume - aim at some 10 liters or even larger,...or smaller sealed equiped with aperiodic membrane at the back of enclosure venting into doors or out of the car. In case of IB midbass install in doors, use apropriate materials like ply birch or similar, or HDPE plastic.... Dont use MDF since it will deteriorate very soon due to watter.
If you decide to install midbass in doors, then well dampen inner and outer door metal and close all holes on inner door metal, so you create a kind of leaky enclosure.

It might look like there is alot of space, but the car is rather small, and im also quite scared of stepping and tramping on the speakers. sometimes my passengers are holes of the arse type.

from what ive read, i understand that the ground zero middbass that i plan on using do well as IB speakers. the plan isif its metal and visible it will be treated with sound deadening.

you did however use a bunch of big words that i have now added to my research list.

thanx for that😅

is there a preferred way of installing or does it come down to the situation and what the car allows to do?

Gents. Question.

I have to ( please read want to ) choose between 2 subs for my build.

First up we have the rockford p2d4 12 inch. Which i paid $25 for from a friend.

Secondly we have the ground zero gzuw 12 inch that i just really like and want because the rest of my system is basically all ground zero.

Basically this is just a post to hear your opinions on the said subwoofers.

The amp driving the single 12 sub will be the mds torque t5. Which i also paid $25 for from the same friend.

seems things have changed a bit. decisions need to be made. i was origanally planning on installing an additional battery. but as the design moves forward ive realized that i do not have enough space for a normal agm battery.

initially i wanted to hide the batteries inside of the subwoofer enclosure in their own compartments with access ports.

or i found back up AGM batteries at 190ah rating. might be overkill, but atleast then ill be good for futire upgrades. and as they can lay flat on their sides i can easily integrate it into the build.

opinions?

this is the new proposed 190ah battery layout

where as this is the other idea where the smaller batteries would sit in the compartments to the side of the subwoofer.

let me know what you good people think.

Finally some updates.

Its been a while and the build took a drastic turn.

The dsp of choice now is a mosconi 6to8
I have 2 x ground zero gzha 4200 amps for the front stage and front woofer.

Carbon fiber enclosures for the midbass drivers.

Its still needs to be upholstered though.

Its been fun so far and I've learned alot, and will definitely do it completely different when the next build comes along.

System was switched on for the first time yesterday, hopefully i can get to tuning it this weekend.

Will update!
