Why is everyone moving to full bridge?!

well, I'm shocked by this, seems the full-bridge / Brazilian run is on.. it feels like everyone has it.
While browsing power today I came across similar internals, I saw the Wolfram, and the sundown series shared a lot of the same stuff.
see below. What happened to the good ol days and comical sayings and being different boards? or am I just old? a small parts switch, meh.
NOT hating, they probably are awesome products. what other ones share this layout?

can someone point me to or give a high level explaination of what full bridge is? This discussion popped up in another forum and it seems like alot of the SPL oriented brands have full bridge. Someone pointed out that Alpine has a full bridge but when I typically see them, it is in a Class d amp supporting subs.

Low cost and efficiency? I've never heard a full-bridge amp and I'm curious what (if any) sonic differences might be there vs more "conventional" designs?
