WTH Helix- Why the hell are these amps not bridgeable?

Simple topic. I love Helix but every time I look at the amps I am turned off due to them not being bridgeable. I just do not understand why this is the case. If they had bridgeability I would be able to delete the DSP and run just the amps with DSP. By not having the ability to bridge, It seems to take the versatility out of the amp. If you are like me, You may go through many system drivers over the ownership of an amp. I literally have run the same two sets of amps for the last 20 years. JL slash series and JL HD series. I have had no real reason to change. I have looked hard at Helix amps because I love how they look and most everything else. But no bridging is kind of a deal breaker for me.

Am I the only one that hates it when amps are not bridgeable?

I originally wanted a Helix V8, but during COVID, my Installation shop said they were unavailable and steered me towards an Audison APF8.9. This ended up being a godsend, as I am BRIDGING two channels together to be able to 260w (instead of 85w) to my Woofers. All the Audison FORZA Amps and DSP Amps are bridgeable (except their Mono amp...lol).

Looking at their website, there are some Helix amps that are bridgeable, but from what I understand, Helix has a proprietary design for their Amps, they cannot even be repaired in the US, I think they are sent back to Germany.

But the bridgeability issue has to do with the design and I agree, it limits their flexibility and I don't think that concerns them...

I agree that the Helix stuff is kind of confusing at first. But as both @Muu & @slowride noted, these amps are internally bridged. The other thing is they incorporate their version of "Smart Power" which does Stagger the power just does it dynamically... For example, if you are running tweeters off of two channels, those tweeters are not pulling more than 1 - 3 watts at the extreme. That "left over" potential actually gets distributed to the channels where the load is more demanding... Its a pretty sweet technology that really isnt talked about much

I just recently bought an M6 because it CAN be bridged, I was looking at the new Audison DSP amp but went M4DSP, M6 and M1X. I just wanted to keep it all Helix because it looks so purty!

Yeah, it definitely does impact their future usability.

I do love the sound of my P Six , but for my latest system I used a 12ch Zapco dsp/amp instead, just because it's bridgeable:

Anyone have any specs on amp crosstalk for the P and V series? I imagine thats where the big advantage to the design is.

If you need to bridge the V eight then you probably should've bought a P6 ult, not wasting 2 dsp channels, double the power, the "better" DSP and 12 DSP channels (2 via optical) for not much more$$.

V12 is hard to argue for regarding flexibilty over the zapco or arc offerings.
