Alpine PDR M65 birth sheet questions

I recently bought a pair of these amps, one for each IDMax 15 in an IB configuration. Amps are rated at 650w at the 2ohm load they will see. I wanted at least 1200w to each sub but the deal was too good to pass up if they ever arrive.

Looking around, most of these seem to have birth sheets putting them around 800w to 840w. Are these birth sheets a gimmick or do they actually mean something? Is this what the amp is capable of if more distortion is allowed, sort of a balls to the wall rating? 800w still isn't as much as I would like but I would feel a little better. I know 150 additional watts will be like 1db but I'll take the headroom. Thanks in advance.

And yes, these subs will take a full 1200w IB easily. Eventually I might use these for mid bass down the road with a full 1100-1200w on each sub but I think these should sound pretty good and get loud enough with 650-800w on each.

I don't know if the birth sheet means anything on a fully regulated class d pwm amp. I suspect it doesn't mean much because of the topology. I know back when in un-regulated class AB was the hot ticket the birth sheet did mean something because the input rail could sit at a much higher voltage and the output devices had a tolerance that would allow some to have more power, each one would have a 15w rating lets just say and would sometimes put out 20w depending on the resistors that bias them and the devices IIRC. Class D doesn't use out put devices like that, and the input is so tightly regulated. And I believe and good class D the output is monitored thousands or million times a second so that there is no difference between the input and the signal. But I haven't brushed up on my PWM amps lately and can't recall exactly so I can't answer this with certainty. But my hunch would say no.

Thanks to everyone!

My system is not up to 14.4v unfortunately. I get 13.9 at the alternator now and with the OEM one. At the PS8 when the bass hits, voltage drops to the high 12s. I'm going to rip out all wiring and start over this time and with pure copper and larger wire. I guess I should be happy if I get the rated 650w. Thanks again.

yeah, alpine is usually within a reasonable amount of what they claim at 14.4
