Am I the only person that likes loud rear speakers?

So I have the Recoil RPM365 3-way in the front and the MX65 pro audio style coaxials with bullet tweeters in the rear. Am I the only person on here who likes having their rear speakers be equally as loud as the fronts?? I just think it sounds more "full", and even though the rears are low in the doors, I like the effect I am getting from the added crispness/brightness of the bullets to complement my front silk domes which are very smooth sounding. The mx65 are more sensitive than the fronts, so they are naturally louder, and I like it best with the fader at 0. Just wondering if anyone else enjoys this type of sound. I feel like it's also louder to better blend in with my subwoofers. Just my personal opinion. It's America, you can set your ride up however you want, but when I blew my 2 previous rear speakers I couldn't wait to replace them with these.

If you like it, that's all that matters. You are probably not the only one, but you are in the minority on this site. Curious, have you ever heard a properly setup and tuned system, it may change your mind.

Like Bob said, it's your system, do whatever you like.

I'm sure a lot of people on here think what I'm installing is stupid, or "not proper", but it doesn't matter to me. The system is for me, I'm not competing, and I doubt anyone on here will ever hear it beside my brother.

I'm installing speakers for rear fill, but will make a tune where they play full range for when I have passengers in the back.

So, if you enjoy the sound of rear speaker, go for it.

I always match the rear fill with the same "type" of speakers. Usually a coaxial version of the comps in the front. That's so I actually get rear-fill and not something different which creates annoying distractions. Being able to record different tunings (in memory - on call) for when I'm on my own or when there are others in the vehicle is nice too. The tuning is all about balance. I like decent rear fill, but for my driving pleasure, the system is tuned with the driver's seat in mind.

I have to be honest, I enjoy playing rap music with lots of bass, and I almost always have my front windows down. I never sit in the vehicle and critically listen to anything. If you do, that's fine. While I like to to think that I want good sound quality, I'm not so certain that rap music and loud bass can really be put in the same category as sound quality. I highly doubt there's any SQ judges that use rap music for a test track. I'm kinda at the point where I feel like if I want to expand and improve my system, that I'm at or close to the point of diminishing returns already. I have as much in my entire system (2 amps, head unit, subs, CLD, wire, all new speakers, installation help) as a lot of people here have invested in just 1 or 2 components in their system.

I was thinking of getting a Recoil 10 channel DSP when they get them in from China. I think they're going to be like $180. Raw-cat on YouTube gave it a bad review bc he measured like .7% THD or something. For the price, as long as it's under 1%, I just don't think you're going to be able to hear the difference anyway.

On the other hand, I have basic time alignment in my head unit, 13 band graphic EQ, and a 24 db/octave crossover. So if I get a DSP, it's not worth it unless I buy another 4 channel amp, which means more wires and money etc. It's a $300 minimum upgrade, which although it would be pretty cool bc I like having lots of settings, I honestly don't think I'll benefit much considering I'm streaming trap music and always have my volume on 31-33/35 at all times.

I'm thinking of getting one of these while they are on sale, just because!

Hell of a deal!

It's also worth noting that if I actually bought the gear that I really wanted, I would not have bought any of the things I have at all, except for probably the Knu Konceptz wiring. I will say that I make sure that I used high quality wire 0 gauge in case I decide to upgrade so I don't have to spend more money doing the same thing twice. I also wanted to make sure I didn't get any noise from using really cheap RCAs and I bought the Kenwood head unit bc its the cheapest one with 5v RCAs. I also made the amp rack large so I have space to add another/bigger amp or DSP.

I like rear speakers to, just not the focus of the system with horns screaming from behind me.

Absolutely can sound amazing. There is as many crap rock recordings as rap. There is many a sq demo rap song. Not to mention everything sounds better in a good system.

I used love rear fill. Then I learned how to fill my car with the front speakers. Now I don't need rears. I do still like systems with them. There us definitely a lot of rear speaker prejudice mofo's on here!

It's the difference between going to a concert vs going to a night club. One, you listen to live music in front of you, the other you enjoy the music surrounding you. Neither is wrong as long as you enjoy it. That said, the first is more difficult to recreate and is the focus of many 2 channel purists. But build your stereo for you, you're the only one who has to be happy with it.

With music that has good stereo imaging, loud rears kind of ruin everything. If the music you listen to doesn’t have any real stereo imaging in the production, then I could see why someone might want loud rears.

I like music with good stereo imaging, so if I turn on the rears they are only at a whisper, and typically only when someone is sitting in my back seat.
