Faux 4 way system with Kicker 47KSMT2504 KS Series dual-pod component speakers

So I am planning a 3 way active system ran by a Kenwood Excelon reference radio...

I want my sound stage brought up as much as possible, this radio has the ability to run the "highs" x-over as low as 250hz.

A 3 way front stage with the tweeters and mids close together would be perfect and wouldn't need separate time alignments, they would need a passive x-over then though.

The thing is I don't have the cash for fancy speakers, or custom fiberglass work, so I found these Kicker 47KSMT2504 only issue is they are wired independently, so what would I use for a x-over and would the amp still see a 4ohm load with them going into a x-over and then both going to an amp on 1 channel?

I could go even simpler and use these Kicker 47PSMB32 (2-ohm) but they only have a claimed frequency response to 15khz...

But I want the low highpass going to them to be active from the Excelon Reference radio so would I only use the inline crossover on the tweeter? Does the midrange need lowpass filter and a highpass or does it have national roll off? I guess I don’t really get how the interaction between them works… I’m guessing each has an inline high pass and the midrange just has natural roll off like a tower home theater speaker with a 2.5 way crossover?

I have but at the volume I want and not wanting to do up custom mounting I think these are my best option, open to suggestions tho.
Crutchfield supplies a link to the manual. According to the manual the passive crossover is a LP for the mid & a HP for the tweeter. They also come with capacitors to put a HP on the mid if you do not have an active HP crossover for them. According to you, your Kenwood does so you don’t need the caps.

Set the crossover on the Kenwood to HP @ 400 (per the Kicker manual) and connect each passive crossover to the amp/speakers. This will present a 4 ohm load on each amp channel.
Interesting, I wish they would put more of that in the description and not hide it in the manual, thx for looking that up.

So the crossovers are settled but I'm still confused about hooking it up to an amp, the Kenwood deck only has 3 sets of preouts so these need to run off from 1 channel, can I do that or can I split the RCA to two amp channels with the same information sense I have dual crossovers and bi-amp them? Is there a better quality crossover I could buy and then power them with 1 amp channel that way?

2005 Nissan Xterra, planning on a Kenwood Excelon Reference Deck, these kicker speakers pared with kicker 6x9's in the door and 2 JL audio 12W6v3's in a 3 way active set up.
If you like the DSP at your fingertips they have plenty with a phone app. The dayton is cheap, with 8 outputs
Any other recomendations? I don't need cheep and need to run 3-5 way active. I just don't want to have to plug a laptop in to adjust anything, I really don't like the phone interface either but it would be the next best thing.

There are just one pair of wires (+/-) coming out of the crossover on the Kicker pods and they can be connected on one channel to the amp or head unit. Treat the pods like one speaker in your instance.

Do you have base model Xterra sound or RF package? The stock wiring is different, so you might have to run some new wire. Here's a clip of a video so you can see where the air conditioning ducts run under the dash before you mount this pod:

There are 2 pairs of wires to the Pods, thats kinda my last issue to figure out. I want to treat them like 1 speaker, but how do I connect them to an amp like that? They will be on a channel with a 400ish hz high pass.

It has the Rockford system but when I get this deck and all the speakers it will be totally ripped out and rewired, not going to use the amp or anything, I have thought about trying to keep the factory underseat sub enclosure and add another under the passenger side to keep my trunk free but I am also designing a custom bot for 2 JL W6's.

The poster above sorted out what nobody seemed to have been able to. Yes there are two sets if wires coming from the pods, but those 2 sets go to a crossover and only 1 pair of wires come out. As mentioned, treat them as a single speaker. Use your head unti to set a HPF around 400hz for the pods, use the LPF on your head unit for about 400hz down to about 80hz, then let the sub take over from around 60hz and down. You’ll need 5 channels of amplification.
