IDMax v2 to v3 Recone???

I have a quick question. I'm looking to see if there should be any noticeable differences in the driver parameters and sound quality of my IDMax since originally it was a version 2 and was then reconed with v3 parts? I plan on using either a 1.5cF sealed or a 2.5cF and 28Hz tuned enclosure (still on the fence), and I am curious if I am ok with these sizes since I've been modeling the v3 sub. Here are specs for reference (obviously aren't the same and the v2 seems like it can go in a smaller box):

v2: http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/pdf/Discontinued Speakers and Eletronics/IDMax12 d2 V.2.pdf

v3: http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/pdf/iDMax12V3D2-spec.pdf

Any ideas? Eric?

ya those boxes will work if you look over at the tech page on the id home page Matt has a couple box designs for the the max in pdf format

V2 and V3 share the same motor structure and voice coil but completely different soft parts.

V3 has lower Fs and larger VAS with slightly more moving mass.

You need to model yours as a V.3. V.3 in smaller ported boxes has mostly the same performance as V.2 but want a larger optimal ported enclosure and lower tuned frequency.

Hi, i am having a problem with an idmax i have owned for awhile, i dont know if its a v1 or v2....has triple stacked magnet. my cone got busted in an accident so i bought a kit recently from a dealer but with the shims i cannot get the coil to go in the gap, i dont want to force it. i was wondering if there are issues with using a v3 kit on a v2 or v1 sub motor. the coil former is the same size but the coil wire looks a little bigger as well as is overall a little thicker. Any advice would be greatly appreciated....thanks
