Boone, North Carolina

I'm looking for a ~1000W mono amp for a small space (22 × 18 x 3"), budget <= $500. Pairing it with a Stereo Integrity SQL-12 D4.

There are some good videos on YT describing the unit.

They are designed in-house by an engineer well respected in the industry, Looks pretty decent, the new budget go-to.

Lots of options! I forgot to mention I am focusing entirely on SQ, if that makes any difference for the suggestions.

Great options above, within your budget.

if focusing on high-end SQ mono Amps, your budget will need to increase OR be open to buying used...!

Typically, lower priced Amps use lower priced components, lower priced amps may generate more heat, everythings' a trade-off...

In my unprofessional opinion a bass amp is a bass amp. As long as it's not noisy (static/background noise) and at doesn't overheat at its rated power. I wouldn't worry too much about its SQ. Put that focus on getting the sub in a proper box, and a proper tune. That's where you'll get your "SQ".

Like I said.... unprofessional opinion 😃

If you’re focusing entirely on SQ, then these are some good options. Most of them are way out of your $500 budget, but you can try to find them used.

I actually was posting in the classifieds to see if anyone had anything used since I didn’t expect to find any new high end equipment within my budget.

I’m currently running a Helix V Eight Mk2 for my front end (which I bought used here), so something in the same realm of equipment is what I was seeking.

I got a quote for a new Helix D One, but I’m not sold it will have enough oomph for the SQL-12.

I've been very happy with my SoundQubed amp. I particularly like that the bass knob is a gain control and not a bass boost control and that it has a clipping indicator on the knob. 860 watts @ 2 Ohm. I have it paired with my Match UP 10 DSP.

Whew lots of good responses. I need to check some measurements and see what will fit best under my driver seat...there is less room than I anticipated.

in my wife's car, i have a CT Sounds CT-2000.1D Compact Class D for that same sub in a 1.25cuft sealed box. matches up nicely with very old re audio 800.4 running focal ps165 fx all the way around. everything sounds musical and does about 1300-1600w on music before clipping.

if you were to do an a/b listen with everything the same but just different amps. say ct sound 2000.1 vs zapco 6.0/arc audio xxk2500, you'll notice that the hit is not as fast/pronounced, but you would have to be really listening for it or have the ear for it and it has to be side by side.

i'de say, you would be happy picking any of the choices here, unless you got a picky ear. then it's just a rabbit hole.
