im looking at these Hyundai oem speakers. and they are super light
they sound like any other stock speakers that come with regular magnets.
we actually tried to blow one up. and it took a while for it to burn.
about same as regular oem speaker

that's pretty much what im looking for but I wanted to know if any of you know a better car I can source that type of speaker from than Hyundai

I thought I saw them on a lexus but not sure which model and year.

I have few bose shallow subs already in different sizes now just need some lightweight speakers in 6.5 or 7 inch and 6x9 size

why I want those? don't worry about it. so the thread stays on topic and not discuss irrelevant things

Our Audi S5 has the Bang & Olufsen system. All of the speakers seem to have NEO magnets.

The front doors appear to about 7". The rear midbass are 6.5" and then it has various 3.5" mids and tweeters. It also has an inverted shallow 8" sub.

Are you asking what cars to look to get speakers from or are you asking us if we have them available for you?

yep im trying to find out what other cars have these neomag speakers that I can take from

6.5 7 inch 6x9 or shallow subs is cool

I knoc Cadillac deville sts has a badass 12 inch sub that ive been using as a free air for years using bazookatube amp. it bumps nice

and acura tl 10 inch bose shallow sub is ok too
but im looking for more options

oh yea ive seen those Kevlar yellow on the accords too but forgot they were also neomags
nice.
nvm the accord speakers have regular magnets on them but same Kevlar yellow cone

keep em coming

more options better.

im also a big fan of Kevlar/carbon fiber cones. I think they sound really close to paper cone. and also water resistant

well not as small as oem but i think i found few

im kinda undecided between those
and dont have any local stores that have those on display to listen to.

anyone had a chance to listen to them all and maybe can provide some feedback on what they sound like compared to one another?

and also does mbquart even use neodymium mag or just use a fancy name for regular magnet by calling it "high energy magnet"

MB Quart RKM169 6" x 9" Reference Series Coaxial Car Speakers

here are my choices im stuck on
6x9
Polk Audio MM691 6" x 9" Mobile Monitor MM Car Speakers
Alpine SPR-69 Type-R 6" x 9" 600W Coaxial Car Speakers

6.5
Precision Power PPI PC2.65C 6-1/2" 2-Way Component Speaker System (PC265C)
Alpine SPR-60C 6.5" Type-R Component Car Speakers
Alpine SPR-60C 6.5" Type-R Component Car Speakers

please dont delete im not advertizing sonic. imjust using them since they have them all in one place. to reference

ok I keep finding more and more aftermarket components with neo mag

I found alpine type-r and spx ref and pro
then polk audio both 6.5 and 6x9

anyone can give me more models that came with neo mag?
I don't know until I see a picture

I know some old kenwod components came with really small neo mags but I forgot

so I scored some of those dinky oem speakers from Hyundai or kia... forgot which..
I was expecting a weak ass sound and zero bass.
but was surprised how much tye can handle before overloading.
it feels like they slope right around 50-60hz
but they rattled off the tweeter out of its cup after about 5 minutes.
im gonna find some 6x9s now before I go and order aftermarket neo mag set
at this point im just curious and not planning to keep them in the car.

but if you have a race car and weight is an issue. these are feather light and not bad sound at all. for stock speakers they say 50rms/75peak. but propably Korean standards lol.

im a sucker for paper speaker sound...I can hear the resonance from other materials and it pisses me off..except maybe Kevlar.

they are far from audiophile quality but would cut 10-15lbs of weight along with other weight reduction could help without sacrifice in sound

got a set of 6x9 from another kia throw them in the back. and would have to say they are definitely better than what came with the car. 2000 integra.
much better than the oem Honda speakers
total spent 15 bucks and about 20 lbs of weight cut down from swapping the infinity speakers out

far from sq setup but for a weekend warrior these will be plenty.

anyone else knows what model year came with neo mags please post.

I know the Toyota came with jbl neo mags but don't know which model or year

I listened to type-rspeakers and was not impressed still muddy as they always were.

The 2007-present Toyota Tundras have the small neo motor speakers. I dissected one of the motors and it was surprisingly sophisticated. It has a copper cap on the pole piece. There are not one but two neo magnets and a low reluctance return path above the second neo magnet for increased BL product. I was impressed, the motor in these is more advanced than your typical aftermarket replacement speakers.

so far they stand up to abuse like a champ
I'm using the 2005 kia rio fronts with vw foam? tweeters
and Volvo carbon fiber cone 8 inch woofers in decklid instead of 6x9s also with neo mags
deck power, a lot of people check trunk for subs.
planning to add a set of 4 inch speakers into the rear doors ran off deck power and throw those woofers on a tiny class D ebay amp and see how it does.
and of course abuse them more and see how long they hold up since they cost 10 bucks a pair and tweeters are free lol

the weight difference is great.
each of those speakers weighs less than a pound
along with lighter tires, lighter exhaust aftermarket vs stock
all unnecessary crap is removed like the oem alarm system ugly ass oem spoiler Is gone
lighter brackets aluminum vs cast iron.
for a 4 banger it is a massive difference while still keeping all the functionality

but if you come across a nicer looking set of oen neo mag speakers please keep this thread in mind
