These say they are running Android 13. If that is true, that means the digital output bypasses the Android system that degrades hires audio and sends a clean signal to your DSP. One of these will be my next head unit.
Sorry but that’s not how it works at all… android 13 has the audio layer still that resamples

the audio is resampled to 48khz… if you use the usb audio out from a Dudu 7 to a usb to spdif device like an smsl po100 pro you can output 96khz audio, but nothing other than audio will go down the 96khz pipe, no phone calls, no radio, and not the correct sample rate for the track concerned but everything resampled to 96khz, still not ideal

android 14 only enabled app specific bit perfect mode that can be enabled by the app writer only, not by default, and many app writers haven’t done it yet still

They claim 96/192 for optical & coax. I'm not aware that anyone has put it to the test. I remain skeptical of that. I have the 512/12 model, but it'll probably be a couple months before I can get it installed. I will be running optical, coax, & USB to the DSP so I can try them all. Now, if their claims are true & they have actually been able to implement it, I'm not sure of how I'd be able to verify what sampling frequency was arriving at the DSP. I got this HU for several other reasons, and just view higher sampling as a bonus.

It is indeed Android 13, and you have the option to passthrough DSP or not in the settings. Also, USB audio out is even better, that completely eliminates the internal processing.

I'm not expert in Audio, but I have heard Helix DSP can analyze incoming signal.

Have you tested what this unit is capable of? Can it pass 96/192 via coax out to a dsp?

SQ perspective video!

I have one, and generally think it's a great value. I am using the optical output to my M4 DSP, and I'm having a couple issues with output that I'm trying to chase down. The digital outputs are not "full volume" so you'd need to increase the input gain on your DSP. When I do that, I'm seeing clipping and distortion earlier than expected when playing music through the Tidal app - but not seeing any distorition when I play test sweeps (which are locally downloaded files.)

I did make sure that Tidal didn't have "volume normalization" or anything else running. Unfortunately I struggled to find any files on Tidal that I could use to test a 0db output for clipping.

I tried the USB audio out, using a DOUK U2. It was louder, and got a true 96k out. The biggest issue was that the android head unit would only send some media out via USB, other apps seemed to be muted. So only VLC (for movies/media) and music apps like Tidal worked - but I had no audio output over the USB when I played bluetooth files from my phone. I recall some issues with the phone app as well, but I can't recall exactly what the issue was right now.

I ended up returning the U2 and switching back to the dudu7 optical out port, and I'll live with the low output.

Overall I still think it's great and recommend it.
HI technicalfox,
I would like to ask you if you can provide me some photos of 11,5 screen. I have prepared Helix M six DSP and I'm delaying the purchase. I need to know if the screen is "the better one". It means if it is at least laminated. And it will be good if the blacks are as much as close to real black. I know that it is not OLED, but ..
I already have Eonon and the display is literaly pain.
If you will be so kind, please make a photo of screen corner when it is OFF. A few angles will be great. Also screen with black colour in dark will say a lot.
Thanks in advance.

and sorry about my English :)

I've 9 inch unit, I can send you some pictures if you want. The display is higher resolution 2000x1200 at least for 9 and 10 inch units and it's crisp and works great.

HI ovovo, according to Mekede marketing materials 9,10,11inch displays should have same resolution. So it will be helpfull to see it too. I'll be gratefull for these. :)

I can snap you some pics, besides pics of the screen off, do you want a picture of dark content on the screen, like a dark movie with bright colors or an all together dark scene? My kids love to watch movies in my car.

Yeah, it will be great. I want as many photos as posssible. Blacks beside sharp whites reviel light bleeding. Which is big weekness of QLED (IPS) displays.
Just black screen with white text will be great.
I don't need it for movies. Only static pictures (menus) but with decent "black" for night ride. I hate that grey glowing rectangle (screen). 😲
Also photo of screen when car is off is easier to make. That part where display meats frame (area of 10cm). (y):)
Thanks in advance for photos. 🙏
