Sorry for the noob question, is this used mainly for the sub? Or can I get 2 and use for the front speakers and the sub?

 

Frequency response for the TLD22 is 20Hz to 20kHz so it can be used for either purpose.

long time lurker on hot deals and classifieds... Is the main purpose of the line driver just to greatly increase the voltage? and if not would it be worth to buy it just for the voltage increase that is sent to the amp?

I have read that depending on the amp this voltage is going to it can cause problems? ( problem with 8 Volts going in)

yeah my headunit is a 4 volt output so i should probably hold off i guess

 

If you have extra processors in line, (EQ X over DSP) these can reduce the voltage level you amp sees. I had this problem despite 4v head unit output.
