I have the Dash Designs Dashtex Dashcover and it's top quality compare to my previous Dashmat brand.

Even my wife says it's night and day compare to the other one

I got mine from Brand New Auto, Factory Direct Savings on Car Truck and SUV accessories

Looks like it has a "sheen" like spandex to it.. mines is "synth-suede"

Honestly, I donno what I'd do without mine.. my seat sits 4" lower than stock, so the reflection OF the dash off the windshield was crazy... I love my dashmat..

very nice setup...oh and that dashmat is nice too :p

If figured by cost alone this might be the best thing I did to help my sound quality.

yeah i have, dave from 12voltdaves gave me that same exact advice back a few weeks ago when he was demoing his 300 and i asked about a rumor for somebody being put into modex (meca) for a dashmat.

I"m about to make the purchase now, i'm quarying and gathering all the images and picking one in a bit, thank you all for all fo the great feedback, i'm sure this thread will be very helpful to anyone else looking for a dashmat and what to do :D

Got a Sedonna Suede Dashtopper in my Integra. Fit and finish is perfect.

I'd hate to skimp on something that you'll be forced to look at whenever you're in your vehicle. I think mine ran $90 shipped. Didn't buy it for "SQ", bought it to help save and protect my non-cracked(knocks on wood*) 13 year old dash....

+1 on Dashtopper. It worked wonders w/ my ID CD1 Pro horns (kept all the stray reflections from ruining the center image). Fit and finish were 2nd to none.

Suede DashMat....
They sent about 3' of velcro for it. It took almost 30' to finally get it to lay right....and I'm still not real happy. Gonna look at the others mentioned here right now.

Nice find here, I've been on the fence of getting a Dash Topper over the Dashmat (fitment issues with Dashmat).

To those with the Dash Designs what fabric did you opt for? I like the Dashtex and brushed suede.

**posted before Wesayso's WHOIS info**

So looks that Dashtopper is DashDesign, interesting.

Yeah, those dashtopper's look nice! I may have went with one of those instead of the dashmat brand. But my dashmat fits really well so I'm not disappointed.

purchased, i went with a black dashmat.com LTD eddition dashmat with a monte carlo monogram :) i dont like suede, i never have. its a cheaky look to me. my second choice was dashtopper.com with the sedona suede but meh. same thing and ive seen more from dashmat. so i went with what i knew.

got my dashmat today from dashmat.com i must say...not impressed. for one, much smaller than i thought it would be lol, material feels flimsey and cheeky, has a nice feel but it's not much to it, the seeming was poorly done, uneven and even some pull son some of the seemings. the velcrow to attach it to my dash did NOT come in the package, i called they informed i was wrong and they were already attached, i looked and it was not attached...called em back up they have the velcrow coming out to me, but still. i already waited 2-3 weeks for a custom fited custom dashmat, and this is what i end up with? not impressed. i'd say the product and service was worth less than half of what i paid...quite a rip off if you ask me, but it's what i got, it looks decent and once I get it fascened to the dash and things settle i think it'll look good, but just not as impressed as i thought i'd be for 80 ****ing dolors -_-

Take my advice, don't wait for the velcro from them, cause it won't be enough. Go to Walmart or a craft/hobby store and get a pack of the 3/4" wide velcro strips. Use it where needed to hold it down. Also, lay it out on a flat surface for a day or twoso it can "relax" before installing it. This is the velcro I used:

yeah i figuired as much, hell if they dont even wanna send it with, i doubt they'll send me much. I have the dashmat on my dash, figuired if its gonna relax to a shape might as well be the shape of my dash right? anyways, yeah pretty bumbed about what it turned out to be <_< but I aint putting no wall mart special velcro on my 12k$ car dashboard lol if i do that i'll find some good stuff that wont damage my dash.

#35 ·
I only put the velrco on the smooth surfaces of my dash. Thin strips around the HVAC vents, on the windshield defroster piece by the windshield. Didn't need much as the carpet is a nice and heavy.

#36 ·
Guess it depends on the type of dashmat you have and dash shape. I had to use some on the bottom corners as my dash is curved at that point. I also have the suede version which is rather light weight compaired to the carpet version. The velcro I listed is actually better than what they give you with the dash kit. Don't worry about it messing up the dash, mineral spirits will take the glue off without harming anything.

of course theirs a difference bounce a ball on a carpet than a vinyl floor

#40 ·
Post up a pic of this thing! Curious how it looks.

Anyone know of a company that makes a dashmat out of shag carpet? Yes I'm serious. My Cover King dashmat is a pos but it does the job. I want a thicker mat to absorb lower frequencies. As it sits just the tippy top image ques are being tamed.

#42 ·
How low of frequencies are we talking about?
