I don't know if there's a setting. I thought it would automatically just play what ever sample rate you were playing. The topping should be able to tell you what the sample rate is.
I'll see if I can dig up a USB cable tomorrow.

Hmm I have a S23 Ultra and am running One UI 6 (which is the beta, but stable) right now, although the official should be rolling out in the next couple weeks, going to have to play with this...
My understanding is that Samsung hardware limited the S23 series and its not capable of playing HD audio. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I just upgraded to One Ui 6.0 Android 14, and here's my audio section

Notice the text at the bottom. Grayed-out means not supported by phone or headset.
And yes, I've tried to select HD audio. Still.no joy for me on my S23+

Seems like you could just go on the XDA forum and ask anyone to run it. Anyone with a raspberry pie would be able to check

Update, had to go pick up an adapter for USB-C to USB, but this looks good to me.

Amazon Ultra HD track shows 192 PCM on the Topping. I have made zero settings changes on my phone.

Guess I need to add a Topping to my build. Just wished it would work in conjunction with AA. I use AA exclusively when I get in my car. I like using Waze because no matter how many times I travel to the same destination, I like knowing where there are traffic jams. With Waze via AA, it automatically reroutes me when needed

I'm guessing that's good right? Cuz I don't really know lol. Do we know what sample rate for ultra HD is? I looked it up. 😃

I'm guessing it's working properly 😃🍻🍾🎉 (fvck 🍎)

No idea, I'll load some MP3, FLAC, and WAV files to see what they do. All my music was kept on a microSD card on my Note 20, new phone can use microSD and I haven't had a need to transfer yet.

When I was playing with the SMSL PO100 AK. I was connected to AA wireless then connected via USB to the SMSL music stopped for a bit, then started playing again. On my phone it said I was listening via "headphones" but I still had all AA functions. Not sure if it was actually playing throught the USB lossless. But it said I was playing through USB.

The topping is really nice for the job, probly the best if you want to see the actual sample rate. But it's not the only digital bridge available. I got the SMSL PO100 AK cuz I couldn't pass up the deal. I got it opened box from Amazon for like 40$. You need something that can take a digital USB in. So you can go Phone - DAC(kinda cuz you not converting to analog yet) - DSP.

Mine goes Phone (USB-USB)- SMSL (Optical out) - DSP (optical in). If you have a coaxial input it's even better, Cuz optical is limited to 96khz

I have a Topping and and SMSL PO100, I got the Topping in a trade and was given the SMSL by another member. I like the SMSL better because it's much smaller than the Topping.

Amazon upsampled everything when I used it, don’t get too excited…

To save everyone time, the app manufacturers have to implement this dynamic sample rate, it’s not something you can select in options as far as I know 👍🏼

Not to hijack the thread, but wouldn't be great if you could use the USB port on the back of the Helix Director to feed a digital signal to the DSP?
The issue is how the usb is directed internally for control of the DSP chip, plus that’s what a usb hec is for, the hec can be a little bit hit and miss… the smsl po100 pro is also half the price 👍🏼

So I assume you have a director, conductor or other means of controlling volume at point right, because you are using the optical input?
